Always good to add a protective plan just in case accidents happen

Well worth it for certain item levels. Very useful option for peace of mind. Since Samsung doesn't think much of their products and provide a minimal warranty I got this to be safe. My last tv has lasted well but the next one failed in less than 2 yrs. I Showed them the issues and they instantly gave me full credit of purchase price. Too bad they don't consider a sale price when giving credit. I had to pay out a little over $100 to get an exact replacement with the current model since there were no sales at the time.

I purchased the 2-year Geek Squad Protection Plan thinking it would provide immediate coverage if something went wrong with my new TV. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. What they don’t tell you upfront is that if your product is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, Geek Squad won’t help you, they’ll just refer you back to the manufacturer. That means you’re really only getting about one year of coverage, not two, because Geek Squad won’t step in until the manufacturer’s warranty expires. To make things even more frustrating, if your TV is wall-mounted, Best Buy won’t unmount it for you unless you pay an additional $150 or hire someone else to do it before they’ll even assist you. So, even though you pay extra for “full protection,” it doesn’t actually feel like full protection at all. This experience feels misleading and like false advertising. When you buy a 2-year protection plan, you expect help anytime during those two years, not to be bounced between companies or charged extra just to start the replacement process. Customers deserve better transparency about what this plan actually covers and when it applies.

This for us is a no brainer. If your making a big investment the piece of mind geek squad gives you is nice. I bought this exact same tv a couple of years ago with no protection true story and after a couple of months the screen broke. That tv is at the town dump. Anything can happen and no it wasn’t the kids. Life happens. Even after the year a line can come down one side then the other and your out of luck. Then you’ll be wishing you got that protection. So take my inexperience as a reviewer and just get that much needed protection. Hope I helped.

If you buy a television from Best Buy trust me the Geek squad warranty is a must! You never know when something could go wrong and if you have this warranty you’ll be glad you did!

Please listen to the BestBuy sales person when they talk to of this amazing plan, I had at first immediately shut him down and didn’t let him explain, I was wrong and should of been open and heard him out. When I got home and my order had to be changed because of availability and pricing, I found a great deal for Geek squad included in the add on suggestions so I added into the cart to see what it would do. I was in desperate and FAST need of replacing broken down kitchen appliances in a nee to me home because within a year I had no working fridge or oven Holy moly! I saved so much more on installation and haul away then I did on the geek squad plan itself! And 4 months later when my garbage disposal ALSO died, I used the plan to have that delivered and installed! And I still have 7 months left on my plan! Thank you BestBuy for such a great service

Overall, I am very satisfied with the 5-Year Standard Geek Squad Protection plan. It provides excellent coverage, convenient service options, and peace of mind knowing that my device is protected for an extended period. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to safeguard their electronics investment.

The extra warranty is well worth it my tv suddenly died and with the warrant they gave me a new tv!

My TV I purchased gave me fateful service for five years. I was one month away from my BB protection plan expiring when I began to experience dead pixels across half of the TV's screen. I contacted Geek Squad by phone and they coordinated to have a new TV sent out ASAP. Received the new unit within five days. And they hauled the old one away for me too. As long as this new TV lasts me another five years, I'll be set!

Got the TV, brought it home, hooked it up and love it. Works great.

I normally stay away from the additional protection services on any products I purchase, but this one really saved my butt. I bought a floor model of a large screen high definition TV. Over time, I noticed thick lines on the screen and discoloration. It was most noticeable when there wasn't much action on the screen and if large areas pf solid colors were displayed. As it turned out, the LED screen was showing remnants of the demo mode screens that would run constantly in the store. The protection plan allowed me to get %100 of my purchase price back, providing it was spent at Best Buy. I ended up getting a new 55" TV.
