5-Year Standard Geek Squad Protection

Finally, after some time the manufacturer sent out a tech to remove some hardware on my tv and replace it. My warranty did not start till within a year from the purchased date. And that is ok, my television is still on and taken care of either way... It just took a couple of days like 30-45 days due to scheduling and procedures with the manufacturer. However, it saved me a couple hundred dollars...

Highly recommend for the smart consumer

I do not purchase anythings within getting Geek Squad protection because it's the absolute BEST!!! I actually use the Geek Squad protection on this TV. This TV was my replacement. Filing a claim and delivery was quick and easy! 10/10 I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

They never rushed us and spent time showing us the options and shortcuts. This team has been together and worked for Best Buy for a long time. Definitely recommend this service and will use again when we need to purchase any tvs

TV Warranty Worth It

Hopefully I don’t ever need to use it but the cost is definitely worth the cost. I bought the new Tv due to an accident with my old tv that would have been covered if I had this service in the 1st place…

Protection plan to the rescue!!!

Nick helped us out over the phone to find a similar tv, but we couldnt confirm the availability of it in-store. I went in-person, scheduled a pickup delivery of the defective tv and picked up the replacement tv while I was there. Jason and Jennifer were awesome helping me out. Kim also called me to see how things went so far with the whole process. The return pickup was quick, but the credit took the longest...if you can help it, wait to have the Delivery team pickup the defective tv and replace your tv so you dont have to wait for any credit/refund. Based on your circumstances, you may not be able to go this route, but be prepared to wait a bit. Whenever I called the Support line to get an update, I was surprised that the information was slightly different each time.

And this time added a power surge addition!!

Disappointed customer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a protection plan along with a TV purchase to ensure I had a working and functional TV for at least 5 years. The purchased TV was the high end of the brand at the time and we've enjoyed it. Unfortunately I cannot say the same regarding the protection plan. In my first year, we ran into issues with the TV. It was under manufacturers warranty, so they covered a motherboard replacement. Within a few weeks of the manufacturers warranty ending, ran into more issues with the TV. This is the reason I purchased the protection plan and thought I was covered. It was easy getting someone out to inspect and determine another motherboard replacement was needed. That was during my last week of my remote job. I have since started a new job that's 45mins away. I communicated this and the technician said it wasn't a problem and scheduled a Saturday appointment. The date rolls around and no communication from Best Buy all day. I call and am told no agent was assigned and would escalate my issue. It cascaded downhill more and more from here. I had a total of 5 escalations and >12 interactions with Best Buy customer service via chat, call, and in store. Then I'm finally told by someone at corporate that they don't have Saturday appointments in my area and said I should take PTO. It's a new job that I haven't received any PTO yet, so the rep was basically putting me in position to call out sick and hurt my reputation and employment status with this employer. I ask about options like exchanging or returning for store credit and was told that's not an option because they haven't gotten a chance to fix it. They won't work with you for Saturday appointments. So I've been stuck with a malfunctioning TV for months and am told my only option was to mail a complaint to corporate. I mailed a letter to corporate and still haven't received any type of communication. I've been a long time customer of Best Buy. Very disappointed by this situation and I feel cheated being stuck with a malfunctioning TV. Why would I ever shop at Best Buy again after an experience like this?
