For any major technology purchases, the additional warranty is always a good thing to have to cover unexpected situations and issues that may come later while owning the product.

Amazing they really take they time and help you out

i bought the insignia tv/dvd 32" because its better for my eyes i have trouble viewing distances but not with is tv.

Not really much to review on warranty of a brand new tv. It depends on what happens if something does go wrong.

A lot of people look down at Westinghouse but it's great! If your on a budget like me then this tv is great choice.

I have bought Geek Squad Protection Plans in the past and they come in very handy when a product does not last.

This TV was fine, until it stopped working. Bought it the end of November, and screen went black and stopped working in mid-April. Tried tech support first - they were useless, just the usual "did you try unplugging it". That was Friday night and the support number is down until Monday. Called Monday - after a 30 minute run-around for a warranty repair, they opened a repair ticket with a repair firm 90 minutes away. One week later, on the day they were to show up, nothing. Called Samsung, different agent. "oh, that was just tentative. if you didn't hear from them, then you didn't have an appointment". Umm, nice. So the agent had us on hold for over an hour while she 'searched the state" for a repair. Found one 10 minutes away. Never heard from them. Then we were told we were eligible for an "accommodation". We never heard from them. Called yet again. different agent who wanted us to send in the same materials we sent agent 2 so he could submit it for a store credit at best buy. very little detail. He said that we wouldn't get an exchange number for 3-5 business days and then BestBuy will call us and then we can shop for another TV because BestBuy doesn't have this one within 250 miles. And, we just got an email that our repair ticket was cancelled. So it will end up being a month of aggravation and hours on the phone to not get this issue resolved. Any bets as to whether we'll have to call in a few days and start this process all over again? Samsung support is the worst. You get a different story from every agent, excuses at every turn and they never return calls. Run.
