    5 year extended warranty

    The 5 year extended warranty is a better offer. Originally we had the 3 year but since it got close we feel the 5 year will give us more time in case anything happens

    I purchased a 5-year protection plan for a fridge which was delivered to a rental property. It is a safe thing to do since it is a rental. If anything goes wrong, the tenant can call and get it fixed.

    Great value for a 3year plan. Hopefully i won't have any issues with my refrigerator, but if so im happy to know i can depend on geek squad to solve the issue.

    This was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but I purchased the 5 year plan. I like the ruined food coverage, and with supply chain issues, felt it was a good value. Hope I never need it.

    Love having this protection. Had an issue with my refrigerator and they could jot locate anyone in the area to fix it so the plan relaxed it with a brand new one. Makes you feel good to have the coverage when you need it.

    Before I purchased my new LG refrigerator on 6/15/25, I spoke with a Best Buy customer service agent who assured me that, if I purchased a 5-year GS protection plan and something happened during the manufacturer's 1-year warranty period, GS would send out the repairman, who would make any necessary repairs and then deal with LG on my behalf. I had asked about this specifically because I had read several reviews about LG refrigerator compressors going out early and that the LG warranty service was horrible. My refrigerator has started making a loud noise, and GS tells me that I must go through LG and that they will not service the refrigerator until the LG warranty expires. Either Best Buy has trained their employees to misrepresent the terms of the protection, or their employees have not received correct training. Be warned!

    Bring your stuff to the shop

    Make sure you are considering the size of the product when buying. If the size of your item doesn’t fit to a certain category, you will have to bring the item to the shop to get checked out. Example, deep freezer. Yes, bring that thing to the shop.

    I purchased this policy because it was 1/2 price and was the same price I would pay to get a backup device installed in my car. So for the same money, I got the install and year of geek squad service. I saved on my Apple care too. If the price was 150 a year again I might buy it again.

    The warranty is good but there are a few items you should red in fine print. As with my experience with broken TV, the item is taken and they can take time to repair it and you will be without the appliance for a few weeks. Bestbuy tries to sell it to you. Often unnecessary if too expensive. Take it if you must
