    I hope I never need this but since I doubt the samsung will last 42 years like my previous Frigidaire, I paid for a 5 year extended warranty. I wish it was for 10 years. I will know if I recommend the Geek Squad only if I use them. I hope I don't but it is hard to say as I've only had the fridge 10 days.

    my chest was bought in to garage and set up where i wanted, i trusted Best Buy also believed it's always great idea to buy protection plans to protect your products, yes, i 100% recommended.

    The refrigerator is nice but my experience with best buy not so much. I had a refrigerator that had water n ice machine and person that came to hook up refrigerator would not hook it up unless i paid to have new waterline ran. Also they tore my kitchen floor and still waiting for issue to be resolved. Eventhough the installer knew he did it and took a picture before he left.

    Bought the store brand Insignia 20.5 cu ft fridge in stainless steel and within a year the shelves started breaking. Spent 3 days attempting to remedy situation through extended 5 year warranty purchased. Was told damage is difficult to prove or disprove and that an appt to have a technician come out to my house would be necessary to determine if shelf was indeed broken and whether it could be fixed or needed replaced. I had brought the broken Insignia refrigerator shelf in to the store with me. I asked if he was saying the only course of action I had was to take the broken shelf back to my house, try to reinstall it and then schedule an appt with a tech to come to my house to make the determination that it was broken and he said that my understanding was correct. He said it was corporate policy which he had no hand in creating but must abide by . I asked where the "fix it" techs work out of. He said the stores but there was no way for customers or fellow employees to contact them when in store and directed me to contact their main 'help" line. Since I had already spent 2 days trying to get help through the online chat function which led me to be told to bring the shelf into a store to get service only to be told by this Geek Squad employee that their helpline employees were incorrect and now on day 3 of trying to get a workable fridge main shelf I needed to go call the helpline again. I told him I was reluctant to do so as I was already 3 days in and the helpline had sent me to him and he was trying to send me back. I asked for contact information so I could discuss my experience and how their corporate policy effected me and he again gave me the help line telephone number and said that there were no addresses or emails that customers could access or be given, that it was corporate policy that he had no control over because he just worked there. Why even bother? With poor quality products and poor design backed up by the Geek Squad who refuses service and employees who simply can't or won't be autonomous or attempt to actually remedy a situation, why even bother? Spend your money elsewhere, somewhere you and your money is valued and appreciated.

    I ALWAYS and I mean always include the price of extended warranty service into the price of an appliance now a days. And Geek Squad IS the best bunch of techs out there of late. As with ALL things this may change. I can only hope not. because, as of now, I will swear by them. But so I did "the other Major warranty outfit that was "crafty" and went under" I definitely can see Best Buy and Geek Squad is still on the move up and hungery for my business. SO, 5 Stars Guys. Keep it up!!! or I will be gone ; )

    I purchased the 3-year warranty with some hesitation because everything I read says not to buy. However, after looking at the cost per year, it wasn't such a huge price to pay for piece of mind. The retailer that I was going to purchase my refrigerator from had a much higher warranty cost and the salesman was sort of pushy and initially wasn't going to deliver my refrigerator free of charge unless I purchased the extended warranty. I did purchase the refrigerator and they consented to deliver free, however after a day of reconsideration, I cancelled my order with that retailer and went with Best Buy, who actually matched the lower price of refrigerator the other retailer was offering, but didn't pressure me to buy the extended plan. I did take my 15 days allowed time to decide.

    I used to think service contracts were a waste of money. Than within the last 2 years, my dishwasher died, my oven needed repair, AND our top of the line LG French Door compressor died after less than a year. The Geek Squad handled it ALL, new LG comes WEDNESDAY. I understand stuff happens.....the GEEK SQUAD helps you get through the STUFF. They are one of the MAIN reasons I use Best Buy for EVERYTHING!

    Besy Buy GEEK SQUAD PROTECTION PLANS are the best! You can't go wrong, when something breaks, and let's face it, everything eventually does! Best Buy is out in a flash to fix it.

    I usually use AMEX for the double warranty, but since I was buying a suite of appliances, it made sense for me to get the BB credit card to save 10%. Thus I bought extra insurance through Geek Squad. My fridge was super noisy and I couldn't bear it. The GS told me that my model had to be kept upright during delivery, otherwise parts inside could get dislodged and cause rattling. Curtis is my personal associate who takes care of all my purchases. He got me a replacement model right away. The replacement model had a dent on one door, so the Geek Squad efficiently removed the good door from my original fridge and put it on my new fridge, and sent the dented door back with the noisy fridge. That's what I call efficient!
