Bought this on a open box refrigerator... fridge looked great but you never know what could of happened between it being opened, returned and put back out for sale. That's a lot of back and forth. Now I'm not too worried about it because I know I'm covered.

The 5-year protection plan seems good for durable goods (like refridgerators) - I've had shorter plans for other products and have not had to use them because there have not been problems with the products. I assume that BestBuy provides the service it propmises.

Geek Squad was able to figure out what was wrong with my fridge and replace it with no cost to me.

Purchased the warranty for peace of mind. I haven't had to use it yet, and hope not to.

I would highly recommend getting the protection it has saved me a few times.

Before I purchased my new LG refrigerator on 6/15/25, I spoke with a Best Buy customer service agent who assured me that, if I purchased a 5-year GS protection plan and something happened during the manufacturer's 1-year warranty period, GS would send out the repairman, who would make any necessary repairs and then deal with LG on my behalf. I had asked about this specifically because I had read several reviews about LG refrigerator compressors going out early and that the LG warranty service was horrible. My refrigerator has started making a loud noise, and GS tells me that I must go through LG and that they will not service the refrigerator until the LG warranty expires. Either Best Buy has trained their employees to misrepresent the terms of the protection, or their employees have not received correct training. Be warned!

It is always good to have a five year warranty protection agreement on a new refrigerator.

Haven't had to utilize the protection plan yet, but happy the service was offered. Great price and piece of mind for five years. In-home delivery and installation were a breeze.
