    Geek peeps can out and couldn't do anything. They referred me to the manufacturer bc the appliance was less than 6 months old.

    I paid $250 for this 5 year plan, my refrigerator has failed twice, Best Buy wouldn’t come out for a week (which resulted in it growing mold), couldn’t resolve the issue, and is refusing to even process my food spoilage claim. They refuse to let me speak to a supervisor and have literally laughed at me telling me to continue to email my claim form, which I’ve been doing for 6 weeks. I’ve spoken to 10+ agents now who won’t help in any way. Complete waste of money and I’m out $500+ worth of food as a single mother of 3 kids and an appliance that continues to fail with zero support from Best Buy.

    By All means do NOT purchase the Geek Squad warranty for major appliances. Best Buy does not service appliances in house and hires an outside service company that is a joke. If you do buy, prepare yourself for a huge run around. We purchased a warranty, had a problem, called Bestbuy and was informed that they would dispatch a third party. Third party two 3 weeks to show up after rescheduling twice. When they did arrive, the tech was wearing a LOWES ID badge. Tech did absolutely nothing, left, and took 3 months to come back with parts. Guess what, the same appliance is broken again. The local store is offering zero assistance.

    The refrigerator was damage. Had to call several times to get the problem solved. Customer service was horrible.

    Got fridge in Sept 2017 & sales person said would add warranty had at that time at 5 yr. Was given 3 yr instead.

    Not so great for drop off! I felt they did not do the inside work and hook it up, my hudsband did. Nor take all the plastic off which was a pain.

    NO ONE OWNS THE PROBLEM - 2 failing fridges

    I have spent a month trying to get my fridge repaired after they sent a technician that does not service my brand. I have been rotated through for departments the last of which told me to service m 2 commercial size refriderators I would have to bring them in. (Both are failing. I have called best buy elite plus and spoken with multiple agents. NO ONE WILL OWN responsibility for the problem and fix my equipment. I just received another $5,000 budget to purchase capital equipment and best buy is off my list of acceptable venros

    My wife adds extended warranties to everything we purchase. It did come in handy on our deluxe washing machine. I hope I don’t end up needing it

    Have yet to use geek squad services, but I have a long time ago and all thru do is give a credit towards a newer version of whatever you bought.

    They list the warranty as a 3 or 5 year warranty. What they don't tell you is that the warranty starts immediately which is simultaneous with the manufacturer's warranty. My manufacturer's warranty is for 1 year but when it expire you'll only have 2 years of Geek Squad Protection vs 3 years. I asked what's the point of having 2 warranties at the same time. Normal extended warranties start as the manufacturer warranty ends.

    Just bought the freezer. Less than 2 weeks later, I haven’t had to invoke the warranty — but I assume I will because of all the reviews.

    Never bring anything to them, youll get it bsck woth the wrong things changed or fixrd, itll be in worse condition than you gave it in as, and geberally speaking theg are rude

    Hr Waiting on phone for Qualified Rep/Ended Up DIY

    Purchased a KitchenAid beverage refrigerator, after an hour being passed back and forth between reps until one was qualified to handle appliances, I was told that I had 2 options to repair my defective unit - 1 bring in a 120lb unit to the store or call Kitchenaid myself for service. Although the unit never worked upon getting it home and spending $150 for the protective plan - why does an “Elite” BB customer have to handle it myself and spend another 30 mins dealing with another call. After the mfg warranty expires, Bestbuy shouldn’t be expecting me to lug this unit into a store for repair. Really surprised by the way this was handled.

We may be able to send a team out to pick up the old unit and drop off a new one (A return pickup - exchange. This of course will save you time from not making calls or bringing in the fridge to the store.     Bought in case the Samsung refrigerator goes bad. couldn't tell you much more since it only works if fridge goes bad.

    This protection is a joke. You actually pay for 2 years because Bestbuy won't cover the first year. You have to go thru the manufacturer first. Second, my fridge from LG broke down in less than a year and now I have to wait 2 weeks to have someone come and repair it. Third, Geek Squad won't even repair if you live outside the service area. I'll never buy something so expensive from Bestbuy ever again.
