    We decided to purchase the extended warranty for our new Whirlpool Refrigerator. We are glad that we did. A friend's new refrigerator "went out" three years after purchasing it and they are happy to have bought the added warranty. --thomas B. Downers Grove

    This is the best purchase! My washer and dryer are under the geek squad warranty. My dryer broke down, made a call and it was fixed, nothing out of pocket.

    Wouldn't recommend this service to EVERY product, but on a fridge for example, having the backing for 5 years for a product that can be a pain to fix is worth it.

    I have Geek Squad for my electronics and keep renewing it yearly. This option was specific to the fridge and I felt the price was worth it. Will cover almost everything. Still have the warranty obviously, but know that after that, the Geek Squad will be able to help if, heaven forbid it fails.

    The delivery guys were awesome. They measure to make sure they could get into the house without issue. They removed and reconnected doors. They were very polite. Also explained everything to me.

    I haven't had to use it, yet. After my previous washers lasting between 5-10 years, I'm hoping this will extend the life of the one I just purchased. Stay tuned.

    I purchased this extended plan for an insignia 21 cubic foot freezer. I did it more for a cautionary because I have never had a problem with any insignia products.

    If you are buying an appliance you have to have the extra warranty. The system is built to require it. Don't go alone on a refrigerator... I guarantee you will need it before the 5 years is out. My last unit needed 5 repairs then finally replacement. It saved me over $3,000!

    Strange. These warranties use to be SUPER expensive. Then they went far down in price, now back in the middle. But, if a shelf breaks on the fridge, and you cant use the shelf, they say it's "cosmetic" and wont replace. they say thats why the prices are "cheaper" for warranty. Huh? you can't use it. Be aware as in the they use they "covers everything from accidents to more" but its not totally true. That was disappointing. At sears, their warranties are in fact still more expensive, but when a shelf broke i called up and one was on the way free. I miss that. But, since my fridge is so expensive, you are better off with a warranty than without.

    Save your Money Back Ordered Parts

    Replacement parts on back order with no est. in-stock date. I purchased an expensive refrigerator that the ice maker quit working on it. Called for service and they promptly sent someone out. Rep told me they were ordering a new ice maker and that it would come directly to me and to call in again once I received it. A day or two after the rep left the fridge stopped cooling so all of my food is spoiling. Yes, they have a food replacement claim form but that is for $200 MAX overall. I have teenage kids we go through that in a week! So I called back in for service on the cooling of my fridge and to my surprise I was told they WILL NOT send anyone else out until my part comes in and they install it. So I ask what is the estimated delivery time for my part and I am told that they don't have one because its on back order. So at this moment I have a 3k fridge in my kitchen with an expensive Geek Squad warranty that was supposed to protect my investment. But what is happening is that every time I call the best-buy warranty service and wait an hour and a half to speak to the first person(that is not an exaggeration) each rep tells me that the previous rep processed my claim wrong and that they are doing it right and I will have another company come out to fix this because this is a major break down. Only for me to wait and receive my scheduling email and see that I am again booked for the same warranty company A&E and they never show up because they wont come out until the ice maker has been shipped to me. I have remained hopeful that this will be resolved professionally but with how my claim is being bungled I don't know. FYI for those buying these plans they tell you that if the product breaks down and they can't fix it they will replace the product. THAT IS NOT THE TRUTH. Thats what I was told so I purchased the product only to learn now that I need help that "your warranty doesn't have that option" WHAT?!?! I purchased the only warranty available to me and purchased it based on that statement. Long story short, store workers don't know much about the warranty info. They are telling you what ever they need to to sell a warranty and get a pat on the head from the manager.
