    I bought the warranty for my Samsung washer and dryer which was $125 each. A little over a year later my washer stopped working. Thank god I bought the warranty I thought. Well, after calling geek squad they set me up with an independent contractor to fix it. With them , they have these windows of time they can come to my house. They originally told me Monday. 5 days after I called. I took a vacation day. The company contacted me and said they can’t make it that day. I wasted a vacation day. They wanted me to take work off for their appointment because they can’t be sure when they can get there. I’ve now been referred to another independent contractor trying to set up a time. They don’t tell you when you purchase the warranty that it won’t work out if you have a job. Never again.

    They only assign a limited time slot for the tech

    I ordered a new desktop, Windows 11 and at home installation/data migration from BB. The tech NEVER arrived for the scheduled appointment after waiting almost 3 weeks. No call - nothing. At 4PM, 8 hours latwer after sitting here all day, when I called to see when the tech was coming I received a "sorry, we will have to reschedule". They rescheduled with me for another 4 weeks out. After the tech arrived for the re-scheduled appt (for which I had now waited 7 weeks) and tried to do the installation and data migration for 40 minutes or so, he said "they only allow me a time slot so I am going to have to leave soon" - even though he had not completed the installation or migration! "I think you'll be ok, just use your scan disk to copy your files to the new system" Be ware. Be ware.

    Indoor Dryer glass not covered

    My LG front load washer/dryer combo model WKGX201HBA had the inner glass explode on the second load. This likely occurred due to some issue with heat from the first load and then cold air from the second load being done right after the first load. Scheduled service on 12/2/2024 for 12/10/2024(earliest available time) and the Geek Squad tech told me to text him pictures and that he was 100% sure that the warranty won't cover this because they've never heard of this happening. Basically, being called a liar because he said his manager said they won't cover it because they don't believe that it can happen. Had to order a $300 door that they would not cover because I was told that this is a cosmetic issue even though it occurred inside the unit. I guess Best Buy's warranty protection is based on the beliefs of any individual.

    Horrible ripoff

    We purchased a Geek Squad protection plan for our Samsung washing machine. They came out 4 times over the course of almost a month, but have never fixed the machine. It has been a comedy of errors. They order the wrong part. Then they order it again. They have no sense of urgency despite the fact that we did not have a working washing machine for a month until we bought a new one at our own expense. What they don’t tell you: The repair tech doesn’t let you know when he is coming until the day of the appointment so you need to block off the entire day. Honestly, even the cable company can do better than that. They ship the parts to your home instead of bringing them. So if the wrong parts are shipped (or not sent at all) the repair won’t happen. They have, so far, not honored their “no lemon” guarantee. In our experience this plan is worthless. When you call them to get help after their initial failure they will invariably tell you they are reviewing it or will send it to someone to review. If you want to talk to a “manager” you have go to a retail store. They won’t do that over the phone. You can never reach the same person twice so there is zero accountability, and infinite buck passing.

    I don't typically write reviews but my frustration with this product is overwhelming. I purchased both this washer, matching dryer and a service plan for both in 5/2023. Within the first 3 months the washer had completely stopped working. At that time I called to have the washer repaired and was told that I had to call Whirlpool directly since it was under a year old. Whirlpool scheduled the repair appointment with an outside company, between waiting for service and the part (the main board) it was over a month of the washer being unusable. Once it was up and working, it was inconsistent at best. The problem that frequently happened was I would start the washer, it would lock, make a grinding sound and then be "done" as indicated on the front panel. I called Whirlpool and they told me how to reset the washer, which I did often. Now I've had the washer for a little over a year and the reset is no longer working so I've called Best Buy for repair. The technician has been to my house 3 times now, replaced just about every part and the problem persists. He is coming back next week to replace another part, hopefully that will work. I will say that the technician has done everything in his power to fix the machine and really gone above and beyond as far as customer service goes. I have always been a loyal Whirlpool customer but after this experience I'll be looking for another brand to support.

    2nd try install fail, refund time.

    So the 2nd crew in nearly 2 week saga left refusing to install my new LG Washer /Dryer. The "geek" squad is really incompetent freelancers, disheveled, unmarked graffiti bobtail, for 2nd time, never even took my old machines out. Last week they said i needed a longer hose hookup than geek provided, (erroneous, didn't i learned) i dashed a block away returned with my own hoses, as they drove away. Today a different 2 person crew said adjacent sliding doors needed to be removed, i removed them in under 5 minutes, guy said he was coming back with his pal to remove the old machines, but he lied, drove away. Best Buy apologizes but i have no faith on 3rd visit these clowns would do any better. Very clearly Best Buy pays them whether they successfully install or not, they act like men who get paid anyway. Always bad for the consumer. I bought 2 of the most expensive items in the store, they treated me like dirt, how sad. Ill get the bearing replaced in the 20 year old one, pity all around. Best Buy, fix this, you've lost an old time customer.

    protection plan scheduling

    My experience with geek squad customer support was great, I had a date and time scheduled for my repair within minutes. When it was time to confirm with the repair technician I was told the time wasn't as agreed and when tried to reschedule I was told there wasn't any other time frame and I cant choose or repair technician for my area. I would be nice to have more than one option for repair technicians, such an inconvenience.
