    GE Washer broke in 18 months warrenty not helpful

    Do not purchase appliances from Best Buy. I have spent hours on the phone with Geek Squad and still do not have an appointment to repair the GE washing machine delivered to my home 16 months ago. The support has been absolutely unhelpful. The image in this review is of the 5th very long phone call with no resolution. The Geek Squad warranty I purchased that is supposed to cover the needed repair appears to be useless. They offered me a $20 gift card for this hassle.

    So we did not know instead of Geek squad, BestBuy hires these third party contractors to deliver and install our washer and dryer. These guys were extremely unprofessional, they unloaded our washer with front end facing the dolly, causing 2 big dents before installation. I asked the guy and he simply told me: “just call BestBuy, they will get you a replacement or a discount” and he refused to take back the machine. After the installation we found out that the hot and cold water hoses were installed incorrectly, so the washer shows 4C2 code and will not start to run. These guys CANNOT read hot water/cold water. We called them and addressed the issues, the girl over the phone told me that they will call us back for the replacement, this was nine days ago, no one ever called nor emailed. We spent over $2000 on a washer and dryer set, it’s been over a week and we still can’t use them, and BestBuy/Geek Squad just take the money and leave us hanging.

    This dryer caused damage to our house from overheating. There is a clear flaw in Geek Squad Protection Plans - they are only good for minor repairs. I was passed on to their insurance company for the damage - Sedgwick - it’s coming up on a year and I have revived no reply from them. I called Best Buy for a claim number so I could go at the insurance company and because of some strange internal policy they will not give it to me. I also called the escalation department who said the insurance company would call within 24 hours …. and still got no response.It’s really silly at this point and it’s wise to be cautious of this program - if something larger happens to your appliance- you will get no where - there are other companies that offer much better plans so it’s important to shop around.

    Stinky clothes after wash

    This machine has the water filled technology It's a large capacity but if you put a big load in there there's going to be laundry detergent or if you put baking soda it all be left on whatever was on the top of your load. The loads don't wash good on the top we always have to wash our loads of second time because they just don't smell like they've been cleaned at the bottom it does but not at the top which means I'm getting ready to call for service because the water is not filling up like it should. I do not recommend this washing machine is horrible

    This product is awful. I originally purchased on may 2019. I had to return because memory board went out and then service call done. After repair was leaking water. This was replaced in July...moving forward to December 28 getting error codes and washer not working. Called geek squad and was given repair date 1/7/21. Tech was unable to fix and part had to be ordered. I had to go to the laundromat since 12/28 to present. Received email from Geek Squad advising part not available and will need to trade in. Stay away from this model. This is a horrific experience! I will be going back to store and hopefully I can trade to another brand!

    Does not honor the Warranty

    I bought a whirlpool washer December 20 24. It’s March and the door stuck throwing an error code. I called geek squad customer service all that and they all told me I have to call the manufacturer for the manufacturer warranty. Why did I buy a five-year warranty for if I have to call all these people

    Directly from our warranty contract : (e.g., if you purchased a 3 year GSP Plan and the manufacturer’s warranty is 2 years, your Coverage will expire 5 years from the date of purchase). NOPE!! They will not cover cracked drum that was covered by manufacturer for 3 years (samsung) AND we had 3 year GSP in addition to that . They now say it is CONCURRENT. The word "concurrent" is not even in the contract. This is not the contract we purchased.....so our warranty expired 20 days before the dryer died.

    Geek Squad Protection is worthless

    Washer broke less than one year after taking delivery. I called Best Buy Geek Squad for support and instead of helping they said you have to call Samsung, this isn't us. What?? This was after I pointed out I have Geek Squad Five Year Protection. Completely useless.

    The Geek Guy was pleasant and that was about the best of the visit. This LG Ventless Dryer had Diagnosis access via Cell Phone and none was done. I would not recommend anyone buying an Appliance from Best Buy to purchase a Warranty. There are other stores that can offer better coverage than a computer Geek.

    GEEK SQUAD HAVE COME TO MY HOUSE TO FIX MY INSIGNIA WASHER MORE THAN 10 TIMES ALREADY IN LESS THAN 5 MONTHS. IM NOT SURE IF ITS THE WASHER THAT IS TRASH OR THE MANY WORKERS THAT HAVE COME AND TRY TO FIX DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. IM SICK OF HAVING TO DEAL WITH THESE MANY ISSUES WITH THIS WASHER IN LESS THAN A YEAR!!!!!! I NEED A REPLACEMENT

    Worst purchase ive ever made

    Brand new dryer leaks water all over my floor. Takes 3 hours to dry a load. My entire laundry room gets hot and steamy like a sauna. I am 100% sure that my vents are clear. This dryer came defective. Best Buy keeps telling me that I have to bring it back but they delivered it and i have no way to get a 300lb appliance back to the store. I ordered it online anyways.

    Purchased a 3-year protection plan for a LG refrigerator in January 2019. Water has been dripping from the ice dispenser for several weeks. There is no ability to set up in home appointments online, but by phone only. Getting to talk to BB customer service rep takes literally hours, with an average waiting time of at least an hour. No point asking for a return call when they don't do it. Best Buy uses third party contractors. They sent a tech in early June. He told us there was nothing wrong with the fridge, cleaned it and left. Second appt was set up for today. Received 2 texts and 2 voice message reminders in last 2 days. At 9:15 today I got a text from the third party contractor to notify me the appt had been cancelled. No reason whatsoever. I've been waiting for BB return call for more than 3 hours (they were supposed to call back in 1 hour 17 minutes).

    GROWS MOLD LIKE CRAZY

    We bought this unit and the gas dryer with steamer function several years ago. We never found the steam function on the dryer to do much despite the claims by LG. With the wash, there is no venting, the gaskets sealing the door double over and do not fully drain. Within 2 years this rather expensive piece of machinery is being replaced due to mold in the drum, the ENTIRE gasket of the door, and in the soap feeder tray. While front loaders are more prone to this, the LG units in particular seem more prone to this. While I INITIALLY had no complaints from the washer unit, I should not need to replace a washer of this price point this quicky. We own a medical clinic and took excellent care and maintenance of the units, which is even more frustrating given how much time was spent trying to keep it clean. I do not recommend this at all unless a few years down the road you like mildew mold smelling clothing.

    Bad quality washer machine worked for 5 months then it broke down. Contacted whirlpool and the next available repair was 3 weeks later then send a 3 Rd party repair company to take a look at it and still waiting on parts for another month?? No parts available?? Whirlpool is made in USA?? The main reason to buy whirlpool was for parts availability since it’s made in USA?????

    I’ve owned my washer for a couple years now. A discontinued Samsung front loader that was supposed to be top of the line. It’s a great washer when operational, but unfortunately, not working. Fixing it under factory warranty was great. But now that factory warranty is over, I’m faced with what is turning out to be the most impossible task to-date. Getting a tech out to fix my washer through the Geek Squad Protection plan. Countless time wasted on the phone scheduling appointments and listening to the service agents regurgitate the same prompt while informing me that “Your appointment has been cancelled because there is no tech available.” Constant time off work, or time blocked off from doing other daily chores while waiting for an appointment that will ultimately not show. Not only that, but I’m having to reach out to them to find out what’s going on with the appointment. This is a horrible experience and I’ve come to the conclusion that this service is a waste of time and money. Now I’m stuck waiting for someone to fix my inoperable washer with a household of five for two weeks! FYI, my appointment is now rescheduled for the third time. Just replace my washer at this point.

    I have had such a bad experience so far with this warranty. 3 days to come look at it, not knowing after explaining on phone what it was or problem. Waiting 10 more days for multiple parts because they aren’t sure, just to cancel that appointment because they didn’t check to see parts had been delivered days before to my house. Now I have to wait 5 more days for next “available” appointment. So far it has been awful service. We will see if it gets fixed. So that will be 17 days out from when I made first phone call and maybe not even fixed then because they weren’t even sure what was wrong. I will update after next appointment but from now on I will buy my appliances from somewhere that actually cares about customer service. So far I get the run around to call this number or that number because nobody knows.

    12/7/21 purchased a washer and dryer at Pacific Sales which is a division of Best Buy. I was offered a service contract from Geek Squad which is also part of Best Buy which I purchased. In May 2023 I noticed a rattle during the spin cycle of the washer. While the machine was operating fine at that time, I contacted Best Buy to have service to avoid further damage and was advised the service contract was through AIG. Had I known the agreement was though AIG I would not have purchased as I have 40 years experience in the financial industry and am aware of AIG history. AIG sent someone out from Antech Appliance which has a 1.5 star rating on Yelp with the majority of the ratings based on their work for warranty companies and finding reasons not to cover claims. The service spent about 10 minutes looking at the machine and told me they would need to remove tub which would take 2 people so they would have to come back. A day or so later I received an email stating the claim was to be denied as "they stated they found the unit not working due to a foreign object(coin/pin rattling) between the tubs causing a noise issue and this is not considered normal wear and tear." Note that per the email they are making the assumption that the rattle is caused by a foreign object but they do not know what it is and cannot confirm it is in fact a foreign object. I filed a complaint with BBB but Best Buy stated they are standing behind AIG finding. I had requested a refund of the premium as the warranty was of no value and AIG denied the claim based on assumptions. Subsequently the machine has started to show Error Code when I run the clean cycle. Best Buy responded to the BBB that they had provided a pro rata refund and cancelled the contract. This was done at my request as my right and not in satisfaction of my claim. Best Buy used to stand behind their products but obviously no more. Do not buy from Best Buy but, if you do, do not purchase a service contract. Not worth anything. They employ sub standard repair companies.

    I ordered a combination washer/dryer and a warranty. The extended warranty kicked in on June 20th 2020 and here we are at May 18th 2023 and they tech pushed my repair date a week and said my drain motor is not covered and is going to tell me how much it's going to cost me. Nice.

    Hum, i didn't that samsung dryer is cheap. I reversed door a d screws didnt screw in tight call best buy , best told me to call samsung but samsung was rude told even it a manufacured defect they didnot cover door issues only functional problems and refer me.back to best buy. Eventhough i bought the extended protection buy rep alfonso promised to help me resolve the isue with the stupid but see i just lie to he didnt call me as he promised me. SO IF ARE PLANNING TO APLIANCES DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH SAMSUNG BECAUSE AFTER THE 15 DAYS IF IS NOT A FUNCTIONAL THE WONT FIX IT. SAMSUNG SUCKS
