    Worst protection plan

    I had purchased a Geek Squad Protection Plan with the Plan ID: 5785953312 for my dishwasher. The plan was Valid through: 04/25/2022. I started getting an issue in Nov 2021. I reported this on 11/29/2021 to Best Buy and scheduled a repair with Order number as #73522504. They assigned it to local technician company. Someone from that company came and mentioned that the Dishwasher motor is bad and had to be replaced. He mentioned that he will order new motor. He came back in 2-3 weeks and replaced the dishwasher motor. It worked for 2 months and started giving me issues again. As per technician advise, I tried with different wash cycles but nothing helped. I again reported this issue on 04/04/2022 with Order number as #77225931. The technician came and said that this is weird issue which happens with this model. There is nothing he can fix but sometimes running a wash cycle with vineger helps. He advised us to run th longest wash cycle with vineger and asked to call directly to him if this doesn't help. The issue persisted so I called him back next week but he advised to try other different wash cycles. I spent couple of days with him trying multiple different wash cycles but nothing helped. I called best buy again on 04/21/2022 with order numbr as #77706616. This time some other technician came from same company and didn't even touched the dishwasher. He said its a common problem and cannot be repaired. He will report it to Best buy. After that, I called multiple times to Best buy and asked for further help. They said they didn't get anything from the technician so they cannot help anything. Now they wasted my so many weeks troubleshooting the issue and now best buy is saying that my protection plan is expired. I had wasted so many hours on phone call with the help desk and wasted all my time.

    Refrigirator repair

    I purchase a Samsung refrigirator almost three years ago broke down about 3 times in the time being they had to come fix it those 3 times. Now my refrigerator is paid off and it broke down they are not willing to fix it. Took them 4 days to come out and even look at it. The technician that came did not bother to give exact notes to my sister while being here she stated if she didnt ask what was wrong with fridge he would had just walked out the house with out saying a word that is very unprofessional. A couple days passed and here I am with no fridge waiting for them to call me with an update as I am the owner of the fridge and nothing. I decided to call myself and was told to clean out the fridge and a technician would come out and check it out again. So here I find myself once again calling to make a second appointment after cleaning it out. Here comes the second appointment date and nobody bothers to call or show up so I make another phone call and now they tell me nobody is going to show up because its not going to get repaired as it is not covered under the warranty. Ok thank you why not tell me that from the beginning so I can look for a solution else were or buy a new one why give customers the run around! Been stuck with out a fridge for almost two weeks waiting on on these people very poor customer service! On top of that all my food went to waste. I dont understand why they even scheduled another appointment when they knew it was not going to be repaired.

    A month long battle

    I wish I could give this no stars. No way people are having five star service. My Samsung tv began having issues, where it would turn on and off by itself and it needed to be fixed. Called geek squad and they came out on a Saturday, mind you their time window is ridiculous 12-8pm? So the guy comes takes a look takes a photo of the back of the tv and orders a part... the next scheduled appointment? Next Saturday.... no one comes. Someone called out they were very sorry for wasting 8am-2 pm of my life. Great.. next appointment? The following Saturday or Sunday. They finally show up Saturday and used the piece they delivered.... and? It was the wrong piece. So now another two pieces need to be ordered... great! (Sarcasm). Schedule for Wednesday at 3pm. Now it’s around 20 days ive been waiting for the tv to be fixed. So Wednesday comes and no one shows up again... is it me? Rescheduled without even a call for Saturday. So now we are going on 23 days. What kind of service is this? When did you guys become so unresponsive to your customers. Wonder if it’s time to just stick to online purchases.

    Horrible ripoff

    We purchased a Geek Squad protection plan for our Samsung washing machine. They came out 4 times over the course of almost a month, but have never fixed the machine. It has been a comedy of errors. They order the wrong part. Then they order it again. They have no sense of urgency despite the fact that we did not have a working washing machine for a month until we bought a new one at our own expense. What they don’t tell you: The repair tech doesn’t let you know when he is coming until the day of the appointment so you need to block off the entire day. Honestly, even the cable company can do better than that. They ship the parts to your home instead of bringing them. So if the wrong parts are shipped (or not sent at all) the repair won’t happen. They have, so far, not honored their “no lemon” guarantee. In our experience this plan is worthless. When you call them to get help after their initial failure they will invariably tell you they are reviewing it or will send it to someone to review. If you want to talk to a “manager” you have go to a retail store. They won’t do that over the phone. You can never reach the same person twice so there is zero accountability, and infinite buck passing.

    They only assign a limited time slot for the tech

    I ordered a new desktop, Windows 11 and at home installation/data migration from BB. The tech NEVER arrived for the scheduled appointment after waiting almost 3 weeks. No call - nothing. At 4PM, 8 hours latwer after sitting here all day, when I called to see when the tech was coming I received a "sorry, we will have to reschedule". They rescheduled with me for another 4 weeks out. After the tech arrived for the re-scheduled appt (for which I had now waited 7 weeks) and tried to do the installation and data migration for 40 minutes or so, he said "they only allow me a time slot so I am going to have to leave soon" - even though he had not completed the installation or migration! "I think you'll be ok, just use your scan disk to copy your files to the new system" Be ware. Be ware.

    After you buy warranty

    I bought the warranty for my Samsung washer and dryer which was $125 each. A little over a year later my washer stopped working. Thank god I bought the warranty I thought. Well, after calling geek squad they set me up with an independent contractor to fix it. With them , they have these windows of time they can come to my house. They originally told me Monday. 5 days after I called. I took a vacation day. The company contacted me and said they can’t make it that day. I wasted a vacation day. They wanted me to take work off for their appointment because they can’t be sure when they can get there. I’ve now been referred to another independent contractor trying to set up a time. They don’t tell you when you purchase the warranty that it won’t work out if you have a job. Never again.

    DO NOT BUY

    I don't typically write reviews but my frustration with this product is overwhelming. I purchased both this washer, matching dryer and a service plan for both in 5/2023. Within the first 3 months the washer had completely stopped working. At that time I called to have the washer repaired and was told that I had to call Whirlpool directly since it was under a year old. Whirlpool scheduled the repair appointment with an outside company, between waiting for service and the part (the main board) it was over a month of the washer being unusable. Once it was up and working, it was inconsistent at best. The problem that frequently happened was I would start the washer, it would lock, make a grinding sound and then be "done" as indicated on the front panel. I called Whirlpool and they told me how to reset the washer, which I did often. Now I've had the washer for a little over a year and the reset is no longer working so I've called Best Buy for repair. The technician has been to my house 3 times now, replaced just about every part and the problem persists. He is coming back next week to replace another part, hopefully that will work. I will say that the technician has done everything in his power to fix the machine and really gone above and beyond as far as customer service goes. I have always been a loyal Whirlpool customer but after this experience I'll be looking for another brand to support.

    Do not buy laundry appliances from Bestbuy! Our last set of Maytag’s were from Lowe’s and the washer worked for almost 8 years, this new washer we bought in 2024 January was starting to make noise two weeks after Bestbuy installed it. Sometimes the machine stop working before the cycle is done and sometimes it keeps showing that 14 mins left for the cycle but the clothes are still soaked and soapy. Bestbuy have been sending different people to check on it more than three times and it never solves anything(all of them found out the issue differently. One of them said it s the electrical problem, the other one said we need a new door.. unbelievable! Now the one year Bestbuy’s included warranty s expired and we stuck with the one year used washer… so annoying.
