Good horror film. Goes well with the vampire genre.

Nothing you haven't seen before in this mash up of Blade and The Thing (1982). But if you're open to more of the same, this stylish entry should keep your interest. Based on a graphic novel and could cynically be referred to as John Carpenter's Snow Vampires.

Overall a pretty good scary movie. Worth owning on blu-ray

This is one of the best vampire films I've ever seen! My wife and I are huge horror buffs, especially in the vampire genre. It has been a while since a good vampire flick has come along. There is of course Van Helsing, the Blade series, and The Underworld series, which are great in thier own right, but those are more action films than they are horror. Not since the late 80s to the mid 90s has there been a good vampire movie, (Lost Boys, Fright Night, Near Dark, Interview With a Vampire, and Bram Stoker's Dracula). There's been a lot of failures also, (Dracula 2000 and 3000, Wes Craven's Dracula series, and the more recent Twilight). So, we were due for one, and this one delivers. It's very intense, has a great plot, and a great cast. This film was actually based on a graphic novel that's a 3 part series, so maybe we'll get another one. My wife and I love this movie, I highly recommend it! Also, two other more recent vampire films that were pretty good are Bled and Rise: Blood Hunter.

This is my favorite vampire movie, and with digital picture and sound it is only better. These vampires are slightly traditional, but are more gruesome than any other group of vampires that I had ever seen. They are like wolves amongst a herd of sheep and it is for the most part just a slaughter. Whoever put two to two together with Alaska having 30 days of night and making that a great opporunity for vampires is a genius. Survivors have to make their way through the town getting what supplies they can so they can survive, but doing so is not so easy but they have two advantages they know the town and they know the cold. A must own for vampire lovers.

I knew this movie was going to be good, but didn't know it was going to be this good. This is one of the best vampire movies I've ever seen and was well worth the money. On Blu-Ray too so you already know it's going to look and sound amazing! As if being in a town that's pitch black dark for 30 24-hour days isn't scray enough, you throw in some nasty blood sucking freaky sounding vampires and you've got a problem. Not only do the vampires look truly different from the norm, but even the way they move and communicate will bug you out, especially when it comes to the boss man. If you're into vampire movies, you'd do yourself a huge injustice by not picking this up!

Not being a fan of vampire flicks other than "lost boys" back in the day - i was pleasantly surprised by this different take on the genre. These vampires were more like zombies to me other than they were strong, fast, and intelligent. Some great gore effects and decent acting make this one of the better horror flicks of 2007. I recommend the graphic novel also. The only downside (if any) was the ending was kind of lame as it tried to make some kind of love story out of the two main characters whom I was never truly interested in to beign with. If it was dark there so often couldn't they have hid him in a basement or something until the next thirty days came around? Just me...

This is a must own movie for vampire horror fans. I bought the widescreen version on it's release date. I enjoyed the gore and realism of what vampires actually might be like if they existed. I enjoyed that the vampires in the film spoke a diffrent language all of there own. Great cast. The flaws in this movie would be the ending was def lame. Some of the acting was bad every now and again. I would def recommend this movie if your a horror fan, love gore or like vampire movies such as Interview with a vampire and salems lot.

I went in to see this movie not expecting much... but it is one of the best horror/vampire movies i have seen since the first Underworld. I am a huge fan of the vampire movie and horror movie genres. This movie past my expectations and Im sure it will do the same for you, even my girlfriend liked it and she never likes those kinds of movies.

This was an excellent movie. They took you outside of the vampire norm! I definitely wouldn't want to be in Alaska during this time frame. I was also impressed with the way the love story was implemented into the story line. The added bonus of watching on Blu-Ray is out-of-sight! I would definitely recommend, but keep the lights on!!

I really like this movie, but the ending wasn't great. The plot and acting was done with skill, but with them building the vampires (or whatever they were) up to be very unstoppable and to have them killed off like that wasn't good enough for me. Its like seeing Freddy Kruger get killed like he was in Glory. Don't get me wrong, this is a good scary movie to watch.

I loved this movie since it had so much blood and gore in it. The cool thing was that it looked so realistic and it looks like you could see all this stuff happening. The only down side was that the vampires couldn't talk english and had subtitles. Me and my friend highly recommend this.

this movie was alot better then what I thought it was gonna be, I was very very surprised,its good wholesome entertainment,inspired me to read the graphic comics as well,also the vampires look unique which is awesome only negative thing but I am not complaining is there could've been more gunfights

This could have been so much better. Don't take this statement as if the movie is bad but it is VERY slow at times and could be beefed up by say... more gore and/or action. Josh Hartnett isn't that great in it either (sorry to disappoint for those who like him). I would say watch it but this movie will NOT blow you out of the water.
