if you want to fall asleep, watch this sequel. Boring!

I went into this movie feeling the effects in 300 were a little over the top and while they didn't ruin the movie for me, I really wanted them to tone this down in Rise of an Empire. Thankfully, they did! This movie has a semi parallel timeline to the original and but, it is what the Athens Navy was doing during the same time frame. The hero in this film is Themistocles and he is more the clever tactician who can fight whereas Leonidas was more the Gladiator whose discipline made him a king of Sparta. Think of this more like Kirk vs Picard where both were great in their own way. This movie also gives more of the origin of Xerxes and Artemisia as we learn their backstory and why their vengeance is aimed at Greece. Overall, I really liked the story and it felt like a much more complete package than the original. I liked the strategic design to the fight scenes and this is honestly the first of these Greco-Roman Empire movies this year that I've really appreciated.

This movie stands up very well to its predecessor. 300 was one of my favorite movies when it came out. It had everything you would want out of an action movie: violence, action, awesome visuals, etc. When 300: Rise of an Empire came out, I was nervous for a few reasons. The main character was different, and it had been a long time since the first one and I feared it would be disconnected story wise and visually from the original. Although it is not in my opinion better then the original, it is very good. This film works on its own story wise while staying true and continuing the epic set by the first movie. If you like the first installment, you'll probably like this one. Also, Eva Green is awesome in this movie. I've always found it an interesting dynamic and a great success to a movie if you can understand a villains motives, especially if you can root for them despite their cruelty. She was without question the breakout star of this movie.

Actually the movie is not that bad, It has very good 3D effects al lot of action and a lot of blood I mean a lot, I felt like I was watching mortal kombat. This is not a sequel or prequel is like the movie goes on par with the first then beyond making look like there will be a third. Overall enjoyable movie few fake scenes here and there like the horse part, but a good movie.

After the Persians defeat the original 300, another greek army has to try and stop them. Similar plot lines as the 1st one with just as mutch action. 300 part II kept me entertained and I liked it but it wasn't as good as the original 300. Still worth watching though.

300:Rise Of An Empire is the followup to 300 and in a creative turn serves as a prequel and sequel.While the storyline isn't a iconic as the 300 Spartans story,this is still a worthy followup to the first film with a stand out performance from Eva Green.

Maybe it was becuase I was in my early 20's or becuase I didn't see any trailers or know anything about the graphic novel( despite being a comic book fan) the orginal "300" is probably one of my all time favorite movies. It's right up there with Braveheart and Star Wars and The Dark Knight. This movie cranked up the gore, increase the amount of slo mo shots, and basically made it far more R rated than the first. It's a little too much. I could sit down and watch 300 and be totally into, this one kinda feels more like a gory movie.

For you history folks, this fills in the other half of the "300" battle. Tells the story of the naval battle. No, it isn't historically accurate (it's a movie afterall), but does tell regular "joes" that the "300" battle wasn't just a land battle. Also keeps with the original theatric of the fighting and gore of the original.

I went to the theatre to see this movie. I enjoyed (like most people) the first movie so was looking forward to the sequel. While it wasn't quite as awesome as 300, it was still a good movie.

This was lots of fun. Great action and visual effects. Ties I very nicely with the original. I don't buy much 3D, but it's really worth it in this case. Eva Green is a awesome villain!

Video and audio quality are good. 3D works very well and adds depth but can be enjoyed without 3D. Not as good as the first movie but still a very enjoyable movie.

This action adventure movie is based on ancient stores on these 300 Spartans. the package include a bonus footage dvd. No digital copy code.

I was hoping for more Xerxes, so was kinda disappointed about that. But was a good continuation of first one, and looking forward to watching it in 3D.

It's interesting that this movie had prequel and sequel elements to it. It's not as good as the original but it has some great visuals.

THIS WAS A PRETTY GOOD SEQUEL TO THE FIRST 300 MOVIE. THIS ONE IS NOT FOR LITTLE KIDS THOUGH. LOTS OF BLOOD AND HAS NUDITY.

Looks great in HD. Great price. Not as great as the first one, but still a great actioner with outstanding audio.

While this movie wasn't as good as the original it's still a worthy watch. I love the Blu-Ray, DVD, Ultraviolet Digital Combo option since it works on all my devices. Great value and a worthy purchase!

Really enjoyed 300 but even enjoyed more the follow-up sequel. More action but more engaging story. Two leading ladies who have more to contribute to the story, which is great. Loved it!

Loved the movie. Didn't get to see it at the theater, but with bluray, I really feel that I don't have to. Plus I don't have to deal with the people who don't have the respect to be quiet.

Be prepared to cover your children's eyes. Plenty of nudity. However the naval battles are amazing and well done. Not as good as the first but still a great sequel!
