Works just like an an average bluray movie would be expected too

Great movie but the UHD Blu-Ray has a disappointing transfer with a high red push to the colors on it. Skip this and purchase the regular blu-ray.

Tried playing this on our new Sony 4K player (bought from Best Buy) poor quality sound.

3:10 to Yuma is an exceptional remake of the original. Christian Bale and Russell Crowe really make this movie enjoyable to watch. The overall plot is that Bale's character helps in the capture of Crowe's. Crowe's character is the West's most know criminal around. The problem though is they need Crowe to get to a train station so that he can be tried in a federal court and sent to Yuma prison. With a deadly gang that is always on their tails, as they try and get Crowe to the train station, this goes from a very simple task to a very dangerous one. With this simple plot in hand it is thickened greatly by the psychological tactics of Crowe and the battle for respect and understanding between the characters of Crowe and Bale. I also found it very interesting the conflict within Bale's character of choosing between earning respect from his peer's as well as his family, and just earning a quick dollar to keep them alive for another year. There is really great character development between Bale and Crowe and as the movie progresses you see them come to an understanding of each other more and more. Eventually coming to a end at the train station that you were definitely not expecting. With all of that in mind this is still a run and gun western with lots of shooting and a decent body count. However the relationship development between Crowe and Bale is very well done. A must see for any fan of westerns and or Christian Bale and Russell Crowe. Do not miss this one and if you have Blu Ray it looks and sounds great as well. Also there are some decent educational extras that relate to the film very well that are worth checking out a least once.

christian bale is probably one of the best, if not-the best actor of our time. just think about it:this movie, american psycho, the new batman movies, the prestige and no this. crowe gives one of his best performances as ben wade, a robber/murderer with his psychopathic second leader charlie prince played by ben foster. bale and crowe first meet after crowe takes out a wagon to rob and crowe rides up to bale and his sons while their trying to round up their cattle. one of bales sons seems to like crowe a lot, almost more than his own dad(bale). throughout the movie, bale seems to hate and avoid crowe as crowe trys to talk some since into him. scince bale only has one foot, that makes the story even more intense as bale goes through all these harsh things(especially the end) as crowe trys make freinds with-or at least thats what you think hes trying to do. this movie has one of the most exciting endings ive seen in a while and its a little chaotic. the action is properly paced and the run time is perfect. in other words, 310 to yuma is probably the best western ive ever seen. and yes ive seen the good, bad, and ugly and ive seen unforgiven. if any western where to beat this one, it would be unforgiven, but this is still excellent. the blu-ray version is just as good as any other blu-ray movie. the ending is great and it really shows how much more likeable crowes character can be. but without giving anything away, the end is happy and sad.

The Western genre is pretty rare nowadays--the Hollywood of today usually prefers other kinds of films (we feel you Clint Eastwood). Fortunately for the die-hard fans of the classic Spaghetti Western, the waiting is over. 3:10 to Yuma is one of the best Western film in years and probably one of the best films of 2007 overall. Not only we get excellent performances by Crowe and Bale, but the film captures the Western film traditions from the past--everything from a compelling story with a sense of justice and great gun action. Read on and I tell you, even if you're not a fan of Western, why you have to watch this extraordinary film.

This film should be leading the Oscar race. Christian Bale and Russell Crowe were both outstanding. They story arc that Bale plays is huge and much more meaningful than the original flick. Russell Crowe exudes evil with such complexity and handsomeness that you just shiver. Peter Fonda gives his best turn as a Pinkerton chasing Crowe's character. He should have been nominated for best supporting actor since this role was one of the few times that he really, really demonstrated his acting chops. Perhaps this film was overlooked because it really presented a morality and the fact that doing the right thing is the duty of every man and most men don't step up and do their duty. But when one does, as Bale does here, it transcends the venal selfishness that most people show.

I wasn't much for westerns, aside from those of the Clint Eastwood / John Wayne era; however, I found 3:10 To Yuma on blu-ray disc a refreshing and exhilirating experience from the typical action films these days. It also represents a good resurgence of a western type of film uncommonly seen. The actors do a superb job of portraying their characters. Storyline keeps you interested although the ending is a bit of a surprise...all in all, a great film.

I am not a Westerns film person. Never have been. I have never seen the original film. Bought the tape because I am a fan of Russell’s. A very good film, good acting around. Did NOT need the partial female nudity. It well deserved the critical acclaim it received when released. DVD package-MISTAKE, NO CHAPTER SEARCH LIST OR ANY FILM INFORMATION INSIDE. Violent as you would expect. Do NOT see it if you are not a fan of such films & scenes. Good extras on the DVD package. That surprised me. Lately I have been disappointed by other DVD releases having very little as for extras on them. Could have appreciated a 2 disc package but I will take what I can get.

This is hands down one of the best westerns I've ever seen and definitely better than any western I've seen in recent years. This isn't your standard smart remark, cool tone, run and shoot western either. It's a well-rounded feature with a great storyline, great acting, great character development, and a decent amount of action that wasn't over the top. This one also has a bit a mystery where nothing should be taken at face value...wink wink. Would definitely recommend.

This movie stars two fantastic actors that couldn't fumble a role if they wanted to. This movie is guaranteed to mess with your emotions. It has great character development involving Russel Crowe, Christian Bale and the boy who plays Bale's oldest son. I promise that this movie will keep you on the edge of your seat and constantly wondering if the main characters are going to be killed. It is also one of those movies that tries to make you side with the villain while hating him at the same time. If you like westerns, Crowe, or Bale watch this movie.

This is one of the better westerns that I have ever seen, up there with the Sergio Leoni classics. This was a great story that is able to be watched over and over without it getting old. Visually this was a masterpiece with every shot carefully selected; just outstanding. I would recommend this to anyone who loves westerns and also either Russell Crowe or Christian Bale; both did outstanding work.

Russell Crowe and Christian Bale. These two names alone should tell you that this movie will be great...even though the movie is an update of an older movie, the writing and script are original enough to warrant a view even if you are familiar with the older movie. I just think that this movie does not get the credit it deserves because most people will pass it up due to it being a western themed movie...western themed movies are just unpopular currently.

With the severe lack of new westerns out this movie stand's out among modern day westerns. Russell Crowe really shines as a bad guy you find yourself liking & Christian Bale look's as serious as ever as the protective father & husband looking to do the right thing & make his son proud of him.This movie is a must see for true western enthusiast's.

I was immediately drawn into this movie from the start, and the plot continues to engage the viewer more and more as the movie progresses. The acting is truly excellent and the moral issues that develop start to make the distinction between the good guys and the bad guys begin to blur a bit. Highly recommended.

Pretty good movie, especially if watching in a decent home theater. It's not extremely gorey for an action flick, so my girlfriend was able to watch it with me. (She agreed that it was pretty good.) Good character development, good story, I enjoyed sitting through this from start to finish. My only complaint is that you can't really tell Christian Bale is playing a peg-legged man.

I am a big fan of westerns and it has been a while since I have seen a good modern one. This one blew me away. I love the story and the blue ray format really brings a great picture and great sound right into your home.

I already knew and loved this movie, it was the awesome blu-ray price that made me purchase it for keeps. Love the discounts Best Buy gives on these blu-rays, keep it up!
