My purchasing record at Best Buy is extensive and spans many years. As a retired IT person, I recognize the value of protecting your monetary investment in hardware and software that goes off of warranty in a year. That said, the value of the Geek Squad protection seems diminished, which caused my overall Rating to drop from a hearty 5 to a disappointing 2. In prior years, the plan you bought was the only one they offered, but it meant that you could replace the equipment that failed, or get your purchase money back. Now, there are two plans with variations (length of of plan). The Protection Plan, which ships your equipment to the manufacturer for repair, may take a month to get back. The Replacement Placement, which allows you to pick up an identical article, with the caveat that if the cost has gone up, or you want a different unit, you are entitled to only the cost of the item when you bought it. If I’m have this wrong, I hope a Best Buy support person will respond to this review.

The agents are professional and prompt with their service. Definitely worth it

Would br great to be able to compare any item with every spec possible. Example, when comparing an item like a speaker; one shows a watts RMS at 50 ans the others watts RMS is - , yup nothing to compare too. Thats just an example when comparing spec to spec
