It's always good to have a warranty. You never know what could happen to your stuff.

Got a years worth of coverage for my laptop. I wish I would of gotten more than a years worth of coverage which is my fault not geek squad.

guess the sales person lied ( big shock). bought the 4 year and brought in laptop because the speakers stopped working they need to ship it out it will take three weeks. will not ship back to my kid at school after repairs asked to just refund me for the protection plan and ill keep the laptop

I would highly recommend this just in case something happens to your device. Accidents do happen.

I brought in a 1-month old Surface Book to Best Buy to repair a hairline crack in the screen. I have no idea what caused the crack - I didn't drop it or abuse the computer in any way. I initially thought it was fortunate that I had paid the extra money for the protection plan. Before going to Best Buy with my computer, I chatted with an agent on the website so that I could know what to do/expect. I was told that the repair would be in the store and only take an hour. At the store, it was a much different story. I had to drop off the computer so that it could be sent out for repair, and they estimated it would take up to 2 weeks (!!!) to get fixed and sent back. This is a major inconvenience - the computer is for my daughter and she was about to leave for her freshman year of college, 4 hours away. It's been a little over 2 weeks now, and the computer is still waiting to be repaired. Apparently parts had to be ordered and they still haven't arrived to the repair center. I called to check in on how much longer it would take, and they cannot give me even a ballpark estimate. They will not offer a loaner for my daughter in the meantime, so she is out of luck and we are at their mercy. Do not spend the extra money to purchase the protection plan. And given the lousy customer service we've received so far (inaccurate info from the Chat agent, inaccurate info when dropping it off for repair, and no information today when I called), I can honestly say that I will never make another purchase from Best Buy after this. The crack in the screen was not ideal, but the computer still worked, and we are now fervently wishing that we never dropped it off to get it fixed. (Hindsight is always 20/20.)

Best protection 2 years Geeksquad plan for laptop. Absolutely the smartest decision to buy this, definitely a must buy.
