Quick affordable purchase for my business needs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I this was an affordable quick and easy purchase for my business needs at the time. I can say I love the screen big beautiful 17.5 inch and disappointed that it wasn't a touch screen, touch screen compatible is not the same thing & that's my fault I didn't pay attention! It had sound issues after a year. The geek squad guy scratched up the outside very badly after returning it. I didn't want it anymore so give it to my kids and the sound problem comes back the following year after the warranty expired. My personal services rating I would have to give it 7 out of 10 because it's not a I touching screen but it's extremely compatible with any external keyboard and mouse dual combinations! I still loved the size of the digital screen and it will not fit in the ordinary bag you got to buy a special bag for this laptop!

Not efficient
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The service of the delivery and install staff was wonderful. However, they have me a 4 hr window and came late in the day, do I had to wait at home for hours instead of having a 1 hr window. Also, the visit of having my TB mounted was over $250. I am a disabled person and had no choice but to pay it. Before I hurt my back, I could've done it myself, but because I'm nice disabled I had to pay $250. Then, they couldn't mount the TV at all, do I waited at home for nothing. They took back the wall mount and had me order a pedestal TV stand which I put together myself. So my entire day was waisted do to inefficiency.

Tough job in the field.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Portable astrophotography is a tough job for a laptop. Between exposure to the elements and working in darkness I've destroyed two laptops in 3 years. This time, I decided to buy some protection. $85 for 3 years could be a good investment.

Laptop is great, but employee's not that much.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop so far, expanded to max memory and added 2nd Nvme. Did had some issues where it would freeze if left along for long period of time, had to change settings, including going into the ASUS app to change settings it thinks are best (ASUS Bloatware may be the cause of the random freezing). After making the adjustments, laptop has been running smooth. btw I purchased Open-Box In regards to the purchase experience, I'm sorry to disappoint but staff wasn't the best out there, except for the guy at the register. I first had asked if they had in stock (Open-Box) and they were able to find it, they brought it and they immediately were wanting to close the deal, I asked if I could take a look at the laptop to see the condition (after all, it was Open-Box), they said because its open box, they can't open it. (This is odd to me since it's Open-Box not New)..... I was debating and not feeling it. I inform that I was going to look around and if they could hold it. The person gave a look of unhappy because I delay the purchase. After, went up to the register and asked the cashier (different person) I had the laptop, he brought it over, I asked him if I could see the condition, he said sure, it's an open-box so no problem. I took a look at the laptop, turned it on to ensure everything worked and asked about return, etc.... all good. Then the manager on site, heard when I declined the Geek Square Protection and was insisting, stating things like if I were you I would get it. I simply said I work in IT (having a background of dealing with laptops to repairs, etc...). He then made the smirk of "Oh, I didn't know IT could get parts". Very poor job at sales, except for the cashier which was friendly.

It would be perfect if...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for one thing. The limitations coming from the factory that prevent the hardware from working at 100% of its capacity. The screen does not shine at 500 units to protect the oleds, and the processor, which although it can reach 4.7Ghz, does not exceed 3.5Ghz so as not to overheat. in this image you can see the laptop working at its maximum rendering a 3D animation. See how the graphics.

Computer water damage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Spilt water my laptop and Geek Squad promtly sent it off to repair. Unfortunately it took over a week for them to determine it couldn't be repaired. Good: I got store credit in full Needs improvement: 1. I had to continually track, never got notofications of status changes, 2. I could only go back to the BB Geek Squad location it was dropped off at to finish the process. Which is a huge pain when traveling for work and had no time for the 24-48 process of getting an "exception" from BB. Even more disapointing is the squad members needed prompting even when i scheduled an appointment to close the case.

High Quality laptop, get a best buy warranty.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a high quality laptop, decent battery life, beautiful screen and exudes high status. The sound is clear, the ports are sufficient. WIFI and bluetooth don't drop or provide issues. Ideally , more customization should be offered with "My ASUS" center, but they do a decent job. Asus makes quality products, but you really want to purchase a warranty with Best buy. Gamer's Nexus has performed the video's and Best Buy's warranty is something I've had to use in the past and have full confidence in. Between BB and Dell, they both have great warranties, you pay for them, but they're reliable. However, Dell's offerings in terms of laptops are limited bios that limit users so you never really feel like you own the product. I've used enough of their products to know, but overall Asus is nice, but do not trust them. Thus 4/5 despite being a 5/5 product. Time will tell, but if something goes wrong I know I can trust best buy.

Portable powerhouse, with some issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, lets start with some cons. So this machine has a few software issues. After reinstalling windows and OEM Drivers becuase of an nvme drive upgrade and ram upgrade, I noticed that armory crate wouldn't show options for auto refresh rate, panel saver, or overdrive. Armory crate would also fail to switch gpu power mode to anything besides standard. After troubleshooting all day, with driver reinstalls and gpu drivers, I came to the conclusion that it wasnt a driver issue, but it was an issue with armory crate. I really hope asus can fix these issues becuase there are so many forums on this issue, even from years past. The solution I reccomend for this is to just install a third party app known as G-helper. G-helper is a pretty intuitive alternative to Armory crate with all the same features, but with way less bugs and glitches, although it freezes up at times. The app gets updated frequently with new features and the only thing it really lacks is more in-depth animematrix controls, which I find kinda tacky to begin with. Next up, we get to thermals. With the Rtx 4080 equipped version that I have, it gets HOT, like really hot, even with power limits. On AC in performance mode with 90 watt limit gpu and 65 watt limit cpu, The gpu regularly hits 85 degrees celcius and the cpu regularly thermal throttles. I hear that undervolting can help get those temperatures down even further, although your experience in that may vary by unit. On idle though, on battery in the silent profile, I was regularly hitting 47-55 degrees celcius, with 0 rpm fans. Now lets move onto upgrades. This laptop is upgradeable with some caveats. As you may or may not have heard, this laptop has only 1 upgradeable ram slot, with up to 48 gb of ram total. This machine is very picky with what ram you can upgrade it with, so for the best compatibility, I would reccomend a 4800 mhz cl40 ddr4 sodimm, especially the model from micron, although any brand would work as long as it meets those specs. The m.2 slot is pcie 4.0 x4 compatible for a max sequential speed of 7,000 mb per second, if you could get a drive that fast. The internal drive this comes with is essentially an OEM version of the Samsung 980 pro, so it is a pretty good quality drive. Now lets move onto some of the positives of this product. The display is the best I have seen on a laptop, the keyboard has good travel, and the trackpad is large and slick to use. Its battery life is great with my unit typically reaching around 7-8 hours of battery life, which combined with its silent fans for casual use almost makes me forget that this is a gaming laptop. The only thing that reminds me that this is a gaming laptop is that the fans really kick in once I start playing even moderately demanding games. Now lets consider the value lf this product in its price segment. Considering some of its only 14 inch performance notebook competition is the razer blade 14 (which costs more with lower end specs 2700$ for a 4070), this machine strikes a pretty good value proposition, if you can justify the price tag of over 2000$ for a laptop. Even compared to its other SKUS, like the g14 4090 which performs 8% better on average in games while costing 800$ more, or the g14 4070 which performs 50% worse overall for 650$ less, the g14 strikes the a good balance of price to performance, as long as you dont care about the marginal performance uplift of the 4090 (with limited thermals and power delivery, gimped pretty hard) and the mini led display (which eats at battery life). Overall, this laptop is what I said in the title, a portable powerhouse.

On the whole, worthwhile depending on circumstance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long story short: I hate buying add-ons, but this form of insurance saved my bacon once this year and has already paid for itself. Especially since I think prices are only going up, availability will only go down, waiting for Black Friday etc. price reductions of 10-15% doesn't help much if prices, meantime, have increased 5>10>20+ percent. Back to Geek Squad, my store has been great to work with.

HP - OmniBook X - Copilot+ PC - 14" 2.2K Touch-Scr
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP - OmniBook X - Copilot+ PC - 14" 2.2K Touch-Screen Laptop - Snapdragon X Elite - 16GB Memory - 1TB SDD - Meteor Silver- is a great laptop as to performance and excellent battery life. Only two down sides 1. the win11 24h2 Ver will not allow printers to be installed using their own drivers only use the installed ms driver. This means Label printer like from Dymolabel can not be installed as windows will not all its drivers to be inserted into the "list of printer drivers" need to select the printer driver for the physical printer; 2. must manually set the dpi in the printer setting to 600 as the default was 300, in order for bar coding to be printed so scanner can read it correctly. do not use co-pilot so not an issue it was missing.
