I had to get a new Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 after my first one after 4 years went bad. This time I purchased the Geek Squad 4 year PROTECTION plan.

Bought this to protect components purchased in the store. Otherwise i would have to go through the manufacturer. Only reason to purchase a protection plan is to avoid manufacturer.

Bought it because I didn't want to deal with sending a defective unit back to the manufacturer for repair/ replacement. This cuts that process out and best buy will replace the unit for you.

Always good to have warranty on higher priced items in my opinion
