Alwas recommend geek squad with my purchases large or small.

If the price is right, the replacement plan is worth it, can’t really argue with free replacement if they fail.

So I purchased the warranty with the understanding that its a replacement warranty .A warranty is nothing but peace of mind that you hope you don't end up using . I ended up using mine because the printer I purchased died on me out of nowhere .It was a canon color laser printer Canon Mf642 . When I went to go get a it replaced the at geek squad at my local bestbuy ."Cole" who said he was the supervisor and the only person I can talk to ,told me all he can do is offer me the money back as a BB credit . I told him that I am not interested in that , I'd rather have the same printer either fixed or replaced .I did not care for a store . I had already spend money is buying expensive toner cartridges that would go to waste . Thee guy told me that this printer is not is stock and a similar model I'd have to take the store credit and pay the difference . the difference was close to $200 . I DID NOT PURCAHSE THIS WARRANRTY FOR STORE CREDIT . I purchased it so if anything goes wrong I get the same or similar replacement . The Geek squad guy stonewalled me and kept repeating that this is my only option .He told me that I am welcome to try my luck at a different Best buy ! I am very unhappy with my experience .

We haven’t used them in home but we did use them to try and revive a old laptop and they were extremely helpful

I personally think that the replacement plan is necessary for gaming equipment as you will likely use it heavily.

Best buy extended warranty purchase is the best thing to have on any electronics they make it easy for you to get your product fixed
