Bestbuy charges for a protection plan depending on the cost of the item purchased. They used to take the manufacturers warranty and if the item was defective in to account before applying the protection plan. So they would only use the protection plan in extreme cases. They don't do this anymore. If anything happens to your product you only have 15 days to return it. After that they apply the protection plan to any issues with the product and if you want to keep the protection plan after the issue you have to repurchase it. I had a HP printer fail from a manufacturers defect after 6 weeks of use. I took it back and told them I need to get another printer. They took it back with little question but also used up my $50.00 protection plan in the process. I asked them why are you using my protection plan on a defective item? They said if I don't want to use up my protection plan then I would have to deal with HP directly. In addition they would only offer store credit and refused to give me a refund. I understand that a company has to make a profit to stay in business but there is something just not right about how they are handling this now. Essential if you want the option and privilege of returning an item no matter the circumstances you need to buy a protection plan.

haven't had to use it but for the money its well worth it if I ever need it

I bought the 4 year Geek Squad replacement product for my printer. I haven’t needed to use it yet, but purchased it because my last HP printer broke after about 2 years of use.

my replacement for printer was handled so quickly I was surprised. The printer was evaluated by nice young man, Garrett, who was very knowledgeable. He could see the problems I had been having with the printer.

I've used there warranty before on a printer, and I can say it was worth it. Know that it isn't a scam. You want to ask yourself if you would rather pay 14 dollars , to cover something worth 100+. If you use it frequently, think about protecting yourself!

When my last printer went bad I had bought the geek squad 2 year free fix or replacement and they checked out my faulty printer and gave me a new replacement. I also bought the 2 year protection with this new printer and would not do without their protection!

Hope i dont have to use this, but its a small price to pay if something does happen.

Geek squad made my day easy. Called for support of system failures and they were able to help me real quick. I recommend the Greek Squad subscription for the excellent assistance and addressing issues.

I purchased a printer and she was extremely patient and courteous. Far superior than that of waiting on hold with HP for 45 min. Young lady was happy and helpful. i am truly grateful for the immediate help and explanations. I rate her a true +10

I purchased the warranty because my previous 2 printers only lasted about 3 years. I thought the warranty was worth in the event I need it within the next 4 years. I've used Geek Squad services for other purchases and have generally been satisfied.

Best buys geeks are very useful fast and professional, something I don't always find in Europe! Michael

Worth it if you’re rough on electronics. They get you right and have no problems getting you a new one of something went wrong with your old one.

Can definitely recommend this. Once my son had a problem with a printer he had less than a year, and Best Buy replaced it with a new printer, so this is worth having.
