As an ex employee I can tell you that if your going to purchase anything through Best Buy, be it computers, appliances, or anything. If it has the options get the protection plan. 9/10 Best Buy will just replace it outright if they don't want to bother with repair.

Best Buy stands behind their product replacement program. I've used it before with mostly no hassle or issues. Highly recommend this option especially with products that have mechanical moving parts or products you travel with or carry with you. Also a must for high-tech non-basic appliance models and laptops that are going off to college. Consider purchasing Total Tech Support and save an additional percentage off.

I LOVE the geek squad warranties, they are simple to track on the Best Buy app, easy to use if something breaks. I love the longer warraon some items and wish that I could select them as a Totaltech member, instead of only being able to get the default 2 year warranty, which depends on me to renew my total tech membership

Worth it if you’re worried about tech breaking on you

I don't really like that it's not like a full warranty. If the item gets discontinued in favor of a newer version instead of just replacing it with the newer version they give you what you paid for the original ro go toward something else. Considering Best Buy is a tech store and tech notoriously goes obsolete quickly combined with rampant inflation, the amount you spent on the previous item winds up falling quite short of the newer model. So even after the money you pay for the protection plan you probably will end up spending hundreds more to even get something comparable to what you had. In the end, I guess it still saved me a couple hundred over all but it was frustrating and disappointing. If I couldn't have afforded the difference I would have still been without a security system.

Our salesman talked us into getting this plan, reluctantly we did. It has paid for it’s self 10 times over. All of our TVs, IPads & laptops needed to be updated, took them into Best Buy & Gek Squad was outstanding. Our young lady was very knowledgeable as we explained what was happening with our items. One IPad was fixed immediately, something very simple that we were not aware of, highly recommend

The geek squad is always super helpful and attentive to needs and questions! I had bought a new dryer and turned out the outlet wasn’t getting enough power to run it and they figured out the problem and we got it fixed!
