This was a open box, even though advertised as new. Suction cups wew missing to hold sensors against wall. Will update once I have chance to compare sensors to actual thermometers.

Not what I expected. Requires to be plugged in at

The main reason I purchased this was for my wife to view my ring footage while at home and interact with anyone at the door. It doesn’t work as I expected. You can’t download the ring app and have ring on desktop at all times. It requires you to login to the ring app and view the cameras.

    Poor Customer Loyalty

This review is for Best Buy and it's customer service. I am very disappointed. I submitted my order #BBY01-806397795982 back on 12/17/20 to purchase an Arlo doorbell camera for $99.00, the deal included a smart clock. After a few days, I was told my order would be delayed which I am ok with and was willing to wait. However, what I am not ok with is after the new year I was notified by Best Buy that my order was automatically canceled. After checking the website and finding that the Arlo doorbell I was seeking was in stock but at a higher price, I decided to call Best Buy Customer service for an explanation. The agent had no legitimate explanation and offered no solution to my problem only to say that both he and his supervisor could not reinstate the order. In the past, I have never had a bad experience with Best Buy. I always received what I ordered and this was what I was seeking when I made the call. In my opinion, this is bait and switch at its best. It's very unfortunate because as a customer trying to buy from local businesses, I am being snubbed from a legitimate purchase at the expense of a company seeking to beef up it's bottom line vs. customer satisfaction. Well, this dissatisfied customer will not be making purchases from Best Buy anytime soon. Oh, and if there was a "0" rating available, Best Buy would have gotten it.

Help this device has been a disaster.

Wish I could leave a zero star. Had this installed by Best Buy (I guess its a subcontractor of theirs) for the past few weeks it has been making all sorts of weird noises. Best Buy was supposed to come out yesterday and repair or see whats up and - They never showed - the time they were to come was between 12 pm and 8 pm. Since it was a Saturday I figured no one was coming, around 4 pm I called some one told me they had cancelled (no one contacted me) and they transferred me that person told me it was not cancelled. Customer has been very poor since Covid. Also, when I was in the a store shortly after I purchased item on line I could not get the insurance the clerk told me she did not know how to do it. lol So here I am ready to take a hammer to it becuase of the irritating noises coming from the chime. Sorry I bought it. Something is very wrong.

Stay awy from all google home devices

Google home as a whole is the worst system I've ever encountered. I have owned chromecast, nest hub max, nest hub, google home max, google home mini and google nest wifi with points. The audio groups are deleted all the time in the home app, unable to connect or unable to play at all. With each uodate this seems to get worse. My network has never been worse than the moment I switched to google from ixfinity with nighthawk. I regret the day I thought google mage a quality product and outfitted my house with their equipment. I would stay away until they hire people that know how to role out an integrated, multiplatform product that they claim to already have.

    Worthless Customer Service

Worthless customer service. I bought 4 cams and the base station about a year and a half ago. Now, they have all stopped doing the one thing they are made to do - detect motion AND record video. I could jump up and down in front of the camera, and it will never record. I've reset the entire system back to factory settings and set up again, and it still won't work. Customer service is just canned email replies telling you to try the same things you have already tried to fix, and once out of warranty this is all you'll get.

    Great, when it's connected.

The lights seem to disconnect during inclement weather, or any power interruption. The only fix is to reset the bulbs, which can be a few times a month to once a month. I’ve had the bulbs for a year and really like them when they work. Come on GE, please fix the issue. My WeMo smart plugs seem to have no problems reconnecting after any event.

    Totally Unreliable

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Bought to replace a couple year older version. This new one is TOTAL JUNK! Goes offline intermittently 8-10 times a day, sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes offline until I get home and can reboot it. Except for the $1K I have invested in Ultra 4K cameras, I would toss and replace but guess I have to live with it for now. You want service and support? Try calling: if you can get through, the agents really need ESL training in order to be functional, extremely difficult to understand. I would never recommend this item, find another brand you can trust and rely on.

I ordered 2 locks. One of them works fine but the other one opens without entering code or using fingerprint. And the lock key on the keypad opens the lock and the unlock key on the keypad locks. lol. I can’t return since it’s been already installed. Paid handyman to install the lock and it’s a bad lock .

    Poor Quality and Unreliable

I have placed the camera in a garage, relatively less movement which trigger the camera. Worked well for initial one month or so. Then it started giving problems, The battery doesn't last longer than 3 weeks, the camera goes offline intermittently. You have to either restart the system or remove & add the device all over again. Another thing that is also not clarified when you purchase the product is that subscription is a must have for recording.

    A lot of False Alarms

Hyper active motion detection so it will pick up a lot of unnecessary alerts such as cars passing by. The alert zone technology does not work. Even tried taking motion setting down to 1. Look elsewhere. Finally got frustrated from all the false alarms and uninstalled it.

    Takes to long for video

    Posted .

I installed a new Ring Doorbell 2 on 7/4/20. After 4 months I have when the unit trips I get an acknowledgement right away on my smart phone. But when a person is at the door, it takes about 30 seconds before I can watch the video to see who’s there or to talk to them through the unit. 30 sec. is a long time and some times a person will even walk of by then. So, on that fact I would not recommend this unit. I also have a strong WiFi signal to the unit and my smart phone. But it just takes too long through their software. I also found the battery goes dead after 4 months and needs recharging even with power wired to the unit? It still uses the battery and you need to uninstall it and charge it, which takes 5 to 10 hours then re-install it.

Do not buy this product for any reason

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

DO NOT BUY---DO NOT BUY---DO NOT BUY---DO NOT BUY If you live anywhere that the temperature drops below freezing, this product will not resolve your issues. The cameras will not charge at temperatures less than 32F / 0C so the solar panels will be useless in the winter months. You will still need to bring in the camera to charge. They don't put this in the package or the product literature. But when this happens, you get an error message on the app. Then you go research it and you find that this is an actual issue. I spent hours with tech support and got "I am out of words" or "thank you for your help and we will let management know that we should disclose that in the packaging". You think?

    Didn't install chime connector

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Geek squad came out to install nest doorbell and they didn't install the chime connector that came with the doorbell. They also didn't give the part to me; only the pamphlet. They said they couldn't connect my door chime inside the house because it was buzzing like crazy and they were like "I think it's the transformer. I dunno. We don't really do this. Call an electrician." So I schedule an electrician to come out. He of course charges me hundreds of dollars and asks where the chime connector is. The cool part is that the nest chime connectors denoted in the instructions aren't sold separately so now I have to buy another camera to get that part, try to find one on ebay (I can't, I looked) or deal with the electricians "creative" solution.

There are way to many issues with this product and its software its not even funny. I am not kidding simply look at there community forum or Reddit Forum and you will see the slew of issues you will have with this product. Does not live up to its potential. They fail to live up to there updates are coming promises and simply pushing newer products avoiding to deal with all of the flaws and issues.

    Avoid at all costs

Please avoid this trash. The entire Arlo ecosystem is awful, but this light in particular has been disabling itself daily and after 1 1/2 months of working with their support, they still do not have a fix for the problem and will not replace it regardless of being well within the warranty period. It is a terrible device, in a terrible ecosystem, from a terrible company. Avoid at all costs.

    Absolutely Useless

This camera fails in the most basic things you would want in a security camera - showing you a live view. Try to go into live view and the app just spins endlessly "Activating Device". Ironically, when it detects motion, it is able to record video. Th device health shows no issues - setup is clean, Wi-Fi strength is good. I even went through a full factory reset and setup process, but keep running into the same issue. I think I was able to get a live view only once in about 20 tries.
