    It says after your manufacturer warranty ends…..anywhere else when u purchase a protection plan it begins when the manufacturer warranty ends. Its like getting ripped off for the first year as they will just refer u to the manufacturer for a warranty claim. Once the manufacturer denies the claim then tbey will tell u to file a claim with Best Buy. By the time the thing finally gets fixed you’ve gone for weeks if not more without the appliance. You think they will extend the warranty 2-3 weeks past the time you couldnt use your appliance? They most certainly will not. They tell u everything u need to hear to sell u the warranty and when u file a warranty claim they do everything they can to get out of it. Same as insurance companies most of these corporations leaders should be jailed but they simply “lobby” aka bribe the politicians so they get away with it everyday. This nation was once a great place to call home before the greedy corporations owmed and ran everything including Washington. These days this nation is nothing but a disgrace. Ill be discussing with my wife about canceling our membership and the stores credit card. Im certain she will agree then I will advocate for all my friends and family to do the same. There isnt a single corporation doing business that actually cares about the customers. Its just the opposite their main goal is to screw over as many people as they possibly can. What can we do as consumers? Go to their competitors? Doesn’t matter its all owned by the same group of people. This one owms that one which owns these other ones that owns those over there. Thats why they dont care if they loose u as a customer and go to another business cuz u are still their customer u just dont know it!!!

    I got this protection with a microwave that I purchased and I am glad I did because my microwave stopped working and I took it back and we exchanged it for a new one with no problems, but I got a different brand and was I glad the brand that I got was out of stock so I was able to get a new one at equal value. I have gotten the extended protection on several products and it has saved me a bundle.

    I purchased an LG microwave on July 11, 2023, with a 4-year protection plan. On Aug 25, 2025, it had an opening issue, and the door jammed. Geek Squad agent, without even looking at it, flatly said Yes, it's covered, but we will have to ship it, and it could take 2 months or more to get it all fixed. So they basically wanted me to wait for 2 plus months, and the microwave is one of those appliances I use every day. After this terrible experience, I would recommend not purchasing the Geek Squad warranty. While purchasing this microwave, they were pushing the warranty on me and said no matter what happens, it's covered, Best Buy will try to fix it, if not, I`ll be provided with the new one or the option to buy another model if that particular model wasn`t available. Look elsewhere or make sure you get everything in writing. Two months to fix a jammed microwave door? That`s really unheard of.

    Geek Squad warranty are definitely worth getting for any kind of electronics that you buy. I usually get one with any products I buy and if you ever have a problem with the item while it’s under warranty Best Buy will either fix it or give you credit for the product. I have used Geek Squad warranties before and have never had any problems from Best Buy.

    Never buy anything electronic without Geek Squad protection. I have had three flat screen tvs go bad and all were replaced at minimal charge and with no significant delays.

    She was honest, in a way, so I'm giving one star above minimum, but Best Buy's stated idea of what I should expect of performance in a microwave I paid $250 for is just insulting. Following is what I was told when I explained that the touch pad was nearly impossible to get to respond to the normal touch of pressing with a fingertip, that every other microwave I've ever used responded to. This machine would only work reliably if you turned your hand sideways, and used the pad of your thumb to cover the entire area of the number or function you wanted. I even sent a video showing how the microwave touch pad didn't work properly. She replied, and I quote her, “After watching your video, I believe that the panel is sensitive to the touch. What I noticed is that when you use the top of your finger, especially the pointer, it did not respond. But when you use the center portion and the thumb, it seems to apply more of a surface space &n pressure that the microwave responds to. Unfortunately, the newer and more sophisticated microwaves are require a certain type of push. The top of the finger is not a wide enough surface to cause a reaction.” I don't care about the points they say I'm getting for this review. I don't plan to buy more appliances from Best Buy.

    A must have,I had 5yrs on my curved 55in 2 in years in went bad came out to days later came out did his best made few calls to make sure he did everything he could to save the tv but no luck.So he assisted me in making all the right calls,three days later a new in the box 55in tv delivered to me and yes a another 5 year plan.but I did buy 58 in flat in the mean while 5 years on that well.

    We purchase a lot of products from Best Buy because their geek squad protection program works. We always get the longest possible protection plan and had 2 items that broke already refunded. With the store credit, we were able to purchase new products for the same or even a lesser price. We are very happy with it so far.

    Funny, I've never gotten extra protection for my mobile phones, even though I take them on boats and use whatever one I've got day in and day out. But for an appliance with moving parts, a microwave with an LCD panel, or a TV that wouldn't last like a cathode ray tube would, I put some additional money into the Best Buy protections these days.
