Always buy insurance if items no longer available upgrade to similar or better

I never thought I would ever end up using one of these but believe it or not I was within 48 hours of the end of my geek squad protection and I had to use it. This insurance facilitated for me to get another item brand new due to the fact they didn’t make it anymore. If you plan on using some thing for an extended period and you need the peace of mind to have a replacement this is for you

Overall a good investment. I do recommend a protection plan for microwave ovens if you plan to use it regularly. However when the covered product failed there were some issues. The manager seemed unclear how the service plan worked. Tried to charge me for the difference in the price originally paid for the covered product, a microwave oven, and the current selling price, which of course had increased. After some "negotiating" the product was replaced without additional cost. One other thing of note is that the service plan does NOT transfer to replacement product. Don't buy more time than you think you'll need as it is wasted money. I thought I was good for four years since that is what I purchased. When the product failed after 15 months, I returned to Best Buy to have it repaired or replaced as promised. After getting the replacement I was told the 4-year service plan was null & void and I would have to purchase another service plan for the replacement product. I chose the 2-year plan this time as these microwaves generally fail within two years.

It is a good service if you’re not too good at technology stuff.

Glad I can rest easy knowing I have the 4 year protection on my GE 1.6 cu ft microwave. Even better they matched the price when it went on sale shortly after purchase!

I love our microwave we can heat up wat ever we need and if we want to be lazzy we can air fry some wings and have that nice crisp for football sundays

I purchased an LG microwave on July 11, 2023, with a 4-year protection plan. On Aug 25, 2025, it had an opening issue, and the door jammed. Geek Squad agent, without even looking at it, flatly said Yes, it's covered, but we will have to ship it, and it could take 2 months or more to get it all fixed. So they basically wanted me to wait for 2 plus months, and the microwave is one of those appliances I use every day. After this terrible experience, I would recommend not purchasing the Geek Squad warranty. While purchasing this microwave, they were pushing the warranty on me and said no matter what happens, it's covered, Best Buy will try to fix it, if not, I`ll be provided with the new one or the option to buy another model if that particular model wasn`t available. Look elsewhere or make sure you get everything in writing. Two months to fix a jammed microwave door? That`s really unheard of.

Very impressive. The Sharp microwave is so quiet, you have to look at it to see if it is running. The controls are easy to maneuver around. I also like the presets. It's also easy to clean.

Haven’t had to use and hopefully won’t. But peace of mind especially considering products seem to have less longevity.

We always get protection on all of our best buy items which has been such a god send! We love you Best Buy keep doing what you’re doing! there protection policy’s are the best! Will never get one from any other store other than Best Buy! That’s a fact!

The microwave is a good size not too big however, you have to add about an extra 30 - 60 secs to orginal heating time.

They sell you a huge amount of support but later on when we actually needed the repairs, they really drop the ball, on purpose it seems. First you realize their “__” years warranty is counting the first year, but they don’t actually warranty the device. They leave it up to the original manufacturer warranty. So that was deception to me, borderline fraud. Why tell me we bought 4 year warranty then defer the entire first year to the manufacturer. That’s a 3 year warranty you are offering, I already paid for that first year. So deceptive! Good gracious. Gimmick gimmicky goo. Then, told me policies changed and things are different now, so I have to wait 2 weeks for repairs. Then it’s still broke. Then they offer store credit less, but no refund on the tax and less the cost of the warranty. And no store credit for 30 days, so have to go without the appliance for a month. So get ready to eat about 30% of your investment on their changed policies.(we are eating over $160 on this warranty bamboozle) So watch them on their fine print. BB has become quite the gimmick in the last two years. Their warranty is worst in the market imo. Other box stores don’t gimmick you for about the same cost, and offer more perks. This warranty and their gimmicky “free install” has sent me back to other box store for all future appliance purchases.

Excellent option for an affordable price. They are amazingly good.
