They didn't tell me when my scanner began to malfunction that Epson will help fix it. They told me I could either replace it (and void the warranty) or wait two months for it to be repaired. I would've chosen that option if I didn't have to do so much paperwork. I don't think they knew about Epson thing but as professionals I think they should know more about these things. I would've chosen not to void my warranty (and buy another one). Obviously, purchase it but check all your options before believing what they say.

Knowing I’ll be using my printer in a tow truck for 5 dollars you can’t beat getting a another printer if anything goes wrong.

We rarely purchase electronics without adding this protection. Only used once, but that one time made up for plan cost on all.
