Bought the coverage because the scanner function didn't work on my 1-year-old printer/copier/scanner which was just out of warranty. Tech support diagnosed it as a factory malfunction of this device's scanning function, but I'd let it go 1 week too long before getting help. My fault. Won't make that mistake again.

The scratch turned out to be a small crack and spread. 6 months after I bought it I was throwing it out. That was my only purchase I made without a protection plan and I will always buy it from now on. Having the Geek Squad protection makes me feel calm and reassured that if any unpredictable issue were to damage my electronics they will be fixed or replaced and not destroyed like my tv. In my opinion everyone should opt for it. Spending a few extra bucks is significantly better than spending another couple hundred bucks to replace an item.
