Geek squad is a must! It’s very helpful because sometimes you don’t have to replace an item. It just needs a simple fix and that’s what geek squad is all about.

Always better to.be safe than sorry ... accidents are the one thing younjust cant factor in ... being prepared for the unexpected gives me peace of mind.

Great cameras but I get spammed with motion detection alerts even though I have all the motion zones set up correctly. I cant even see the road in my backyard but the camera detected a vehicle there when there is nothing but green grass.. Not sure how to go about false alerts and not alerting me anytime a car passes by the front of the house. Other wise easy to set up and reliable so far. Love the light for motion detection on the cameras.

Makes a great product even better. This was offered at a reasonable price and I feel better knowing that if one of my security cameras goes down …. Geek Squad to the rescue !

In general, Geek squad does a good job replacing a product. However, with items such as a multi-camera security system, if just ONE camera fails, Best Buy requires that you bring in the ENTIRE system for replacement. I don't have to say how inconvenient it is to be forced to remove ALL cameras, which in my case, there are TWELVE, along with the dvr, only to have to reinstall new ones later. One other complaint, is that once you replace your product, Best Buy cancels your plan, as opposed to switching the plan over to the replacement, which would honor the duration of the coverage. This means that if you purchased a 4 year plan and after 6 months, your product fails, instead of honoring the remaining 3 1/2 years by applying it to the new replacement, you are forced to purchased a brand new plan. So, if you cover the new one, you will have now basically paid for TWO plans for ONE product. This makes the Geek Squad plan worthless and costly, since the manufacturer's warranty would've covered the cost WITHOUT the additional coverage. Hopefully Best Best can make some adjustments to their replacement policy.

So far we haven't had to use the Geek Squad service for the particular product it was purchased for, but we have used Geek Squad in the past. From our past experience, we recommend the product replacement services...think of it as insurance. Sometimes it becomes an investment.
