Great value, very good picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this 48" tv for $349. I'm using an amazon fire tv and it looks great. (Be sure to use 1080p/60hz video settings on fire tv). Installation was easy. Connect the HDMI from fire tv, and power cord. The sound is just so so. A soundbar may be in my future. The remote has a nice basic layout, with the "Input" button prominently placed at the top. At first I was a bit disappointed with the picture. To get the best picture, and save my feelings on the purchase, I tweaked the settings based on another BB reviewer: Backlight 40 Brightness 45 Contrast 57 Color 47 Tint 0 Sharpness 10 Overscan Off Dynamic Backlight Off Color Temp Normal Adaptive Contrast Off (On for Sports) Only 4 stars because I'm sure a $1000 tv would command 5 stars. Overall, I'd recommend this TV for those of us who are bang-for-the-buck minded.

9 Years Perfect...And Counting!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased 2 of these TVs for my first apartment after leaving college. 9 years later, they still are working perfectly with no changes to sound, color, or picture. Best Buy, in my opinion, your store brand Insignia did the impossible!!! Ya'll built a TV that has forced consumers to buy a newer one...Not because of any faults/issues, but because its been so long and screen technology has certainly changed in 9 years!

Cheaply made
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First one sent out was shattered and the second one sent out blew out after 3 days. Would have been a nice tv, if they all didn't just break.

Enjoying this TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I chose this TV after quite a bit of research, and am very pleased with my choice. The picture is an incredible upgrade from the 720p 32"LCD set it is replacing, even on the energy saving setting. Everything from SD cable content to 1080p internet streaming, DVDs and Blu-Ray looks terrific. Sound is quite good for a flat-panel set, and there are both digital and analog outputs for connection to an alternate sound system. This is not my first Insignia set, and the previous one, purchased in 2009, is still going strong, so I would expect similar longevity from this one.

Awesome value, Great picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up the TV, got home, mounted it on the wall, turned it on, Oh no! Screen was cracked! THEN I looked at the box and noticed a little damage on the side labeled front. Well, off the wall, back to the store, exchange with NO PROBLEMS, back to the house and I had it on the wall and working in 15 minutes. The picture looks great at home. It looked good in the store but in the home environment it looks awesome. BTW, the remote is well thought out with frequently accessed commands like Sleep, Format, Volume and Channel easily found. I guess if it was back lit that would be an improvement, but I am completely satisfied with my purchase and the customer service at Best Buy. That's why I keep coming back.

what's not to like?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm no video/tech wizard, but for my simple needs, this is a great TV. Easy assembly, quick and easy setup. Good picture and a great bargain at the sale price. If you want the highest resolution, all the smart-tv bells and whistles, etc., you can spend more, but if you just want a good tv, this is a solid buy. (I'm old enough to remember our family gathering around a b&w 19" tv back in the early 1960s... watching on this big screen is plenty good enough for me!)

Good TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this abit over a month ago. Good picture and sound. Love the larger screensize (it replaced a 26 inch CRT type TV). Works well with Blueray DVD player for amazing pictures and great color.

WOW - blown away
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am seriously blown away. This is a third display in my house - I also have a projector for watching movies which pushes a 12 foot screen and a 60" plasma tv. After buying this tv I just don't get why anyone would get anything more expensive. Video quality is great, blacks are great, tv itself looks great with a very thin bezel, even the audio is great (my much more expensive 60" plasma sounds worse). Basically cannot find any fault with it. I bought the refurbished unit, and it looks and works like new - all the protective film was still in place and base attachment bolts were still in their sealed packet.

Great TV for the right price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I honestly just picked the TV up last night and brought it home. I was really excited because this was the biggest TV I had purchased so far. Took it right out of the box, hooked up the stand, plugged it in to my Fios box, turned it on and was immediately up and running. The picture is great, the sound is good too. I have no issues at all yet. I am not someone who needs to have a perfect HD image and all of that, I like to watch programs and sports. I am not going to tell you that this channel or that channel should be better or this program only broadcasts in a certain definition...whatever! It has a big, clear picture and I am more than happy with it.

Great TV / Great Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this TV as a Christmas gift from my wonderful wife and son. Has been great. Picture quality is excellent and we used a DVD video setup disc to adjust the picture to our liking. Sound is hooked up to 5.1 system, so that too is excellent. Have Apple TV and a digital antenna and am thoroughly pleased with this Insignia product.

Great HD TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great TV for the price, it looks so crisp and clear, I mainly connect my PS4 and everything looks so good on it. This tv was under $500 and well worth the buck..If you are looking for a basic 1080 p tv this is it, it doesn't connect to the internet but thats ok because any other streaming device looks so nice on it.

Great TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV just before Christmas and got it for a very reasonable price. 2 HDMI inputs, Composite Video in, and a USB make for a functional and connectable unit. The picture is very nice, but "grainy" in regular viewing. I suggest watching in Game Mode to eliminate some of the refresh lag. Some reviews here have commented on the lackluster audio from the two 8w speakers. I have not had any problems, but those closest to me do complain that I watch TV with almost inaudible volume. The thing that I do have an issue with is the packaging and marketing. The TV is marketed and sold as a 1080P unit. It is also packaged and marketed as an LED unit. Perhaps I am a TV novice, but I have purchased this set that never displays above 720P. NEVER displays 1080. Also, the set itself is clearly identified on the manufacturer tag as an LCD unit. The box it came in identified it as LED. The Model and Serial numbers match between the set and the packaging, so I can only assume this was some sort of misleading advertising. Those two issues aside, for the price I paid, I cannot complain about the TV. Just beware to ask the questions at Best Buy before you purchase, if those issues are important to you.

Excellent TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent TV for the price. Originally I wanted the 50" 120hz set but they were sold out so I decided to go with this one instead. I sold an older panasonic plasma, and to be honest this TV matches the picture quality and sometimes* exceeds it. Beware though, out of the box this TV looks awful, I almost returned it until I read a forum about calibration. After calibrating this insignia set, it finally gave me that "wow" factor. Deep blacks and only a little bit of light bleed on the bottom right side of the unit. Overall I would recommend this TV to anyone on a budget, and the 6.5ms response time makes it a little more reasonable for gaming as well. Not quite plasma level, but close. Never wrote a review before but had to for this TV for all of you tech savy viewers out there. I was hesitant to buy it but my wallet thanked me, and with this set calibrated it's matching any Samsung in its class. The 120hz model is bogus too because it's just adding frames to the 60hz signals, it is by no means a true 120hz panel. Just a software gimmick. Go with this model for 379.99 instead of 429.99, save the extra money for 2 small inches.

Great for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was on sale for $330. The picture quality is very good. The retail setting is too bright, Energy saver very flat, like most LED/LCD TV's. The standard setting is close to optimal. Tivo, Apple TV and blu-ray are connected through a Yamaha receiver, so no problem with it having only two HDMI ports. Never even tried the built in speakers, so no opinion there. I use it as a monitor that just turns on and off.

Great tv for the price I paid
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We needed a tv to replace an old one so when I found this one I purchased it as an open box item since there was only one left. We are always busy but we try to make some time in the evening for a movie, netflix, news, or just general tv shows. Pros: great tv for the price. Cons: when the movie or show has a dark scene or night time scene, the picture quality messes up and looks pixelated. However, it's something we can look past.
