Sound is good. Blueray player is too sensitive to minor scratches. System shuts down instead of continuing by. Start up could be a lot faster.

I've had this system for about a month or so and no problems yet. I havenit in the bedroom and sound quality seems good. Gets some bass to sound like theatre setting at times.

Bought product at store and was easy to check out. Easy to set up. Sound is exactly what was expected, excellent. Enjoy using the internet to watch movies. Excellent product.

Easy assembly with Speaker color coded plugs ... sounds nice CON: No Cables to connect to TV ( HDMI or TOS)

We purchased this system for our den, but the sound was not as good as the Panasonic that we were upgrading from. We decided to put it in our game room that is smaller and it works perfectly in there.

It serves it's purpose. I don't like the slow start-up process. It takes a few minutes for it to start working. If you sync it to your TV, and then want to switch to radio or something else, it has to go through the process all over again. You have to keep pushing the function button over and over to get it to switch to a different use. The surround sound is really good in a small room. I haven't used it for Blue Ray or CD yet.

The system itself is great. It was an open box item in excellent condition but it came missing the antenna. The local store employees are idiots and gave me the wrong antenna. I am disapoint with the online store too. Sony corp customer support had their ducks in a row and saved the day.

Bought this and hooked it up, liking the set up and sound well enough. Worked fine playing TV sound through digital input. Problem with it is playing blu-rays. When you play the discs in the player and have the sound go through the speakers the sync of sound and picture is off. It varies disc from disc to barely noticeable, to something seems off, to badly dubbed foreign movie look. But tv through it sounded fine; playing it on another player (PS3) sounded fine, if not 5.1 surround, and the strange part, playing it on the home theater player but listening on TV speakers sounded fine too. Called Sony support, and they told me to update it (it already was), then reboot the whole thing. Neither worked. Then they told me to get a technician. Took it back and exchanged it for another one, and it did the same thing. No one in the store had any idea (Used to have to beat the Sony reps there off with a stick when I bought my new tv a few months ago; now they're just dressing regular Best Buy associates in a black shirt). And couldn't tell me about other systems. Though talking to a half dozen people I returned it and exchanged it for a different product. Fingers crossed that works and Geek Squad doesn't have to come in, because I'm tired of unboxing and hooking everything up, then having to disconnect it all, now a third time.

The sound system works very well, but the instruction book is poorly written and takes a while to figure out. Also, switching back and forth between Netflix and regular tv can be a challenge. Also, I have to turn it on every time I turn the tv on, which is kind of a pain. I wish the I could buy just the sound unit without the speakers, because every time it goes out, I get another set of speakers, of which I have 3 now.

This sound system is great for the price. Plus it comes with a bluray player and option tto stream through it. I would totally recomend it for someone on a budget.

This is a great system to get someone started in home theatre. A simple gaming setup would really benefit from this. The negative side of this product is 100% rooted in audio quality. There are very very very limited controls for tone and volume settings for the individual channels, so this is a big disappointment about the system. They work, but that's about it. Often times you will have the left and right channels during big action sequences sounding several decibels louder than all the other channels and there is very little you can do to change this, so you get times where the movie you are watching is at a nice enjoyable level, only to be immediately and instantly have your ears ringing. The speakers themselves also suffer from having a hollow resonance quality to them. Its to be expected with the price point, but it sticks out pretty bad on occasion. Its not a bad system, though. It functions well enough to give you a decent surround sound setup if you don't have one, and for a dorm room or a simple theatre room setup, it'll get you by without much disappointment until you start thinking about upgrading. Also, being a Sony, the Blu-Ray image decoding is excellent and you will never have a complaint about that. The breadth of included streaming apps is pretty impressive, as well, and offer fantastic image quality when given a proper connection.

This unit is great. Really easy to set up even if you're not technologically savvy. Great features and the sound output is incredible.

I have been using the home theatre system 4 months now and have no complaints. Amazing sound from all speakers and was easy to set up with all of our electronics.

Great picture and sound. I couldn't be happier! Easy to set up and the movies look fantastic especially when paired with our Sony TV. couldn't be happier.

Bought this for my basement so that I could watch dvd's, Netflix, and Amazon prime when the kids were hogging the upstairs tv. It's loud enough and has enough bass to annoy the wife. Only complaint is that the interface is kinda awkward and the remote has the volume controls at the very bottom. Maybe that's a Sony thing. But overall no big deal - so it takes two seconds longer to find the entertainment option you want in the interface. And a remote still beats the heck out of a knob on the tv. Plays BluRays that don't work on my older home theater system too.

Sound and picture quality are great. The remote seems to lag on the screen, making searching and typing from remote extrmely slow. Just recently uploaded an update will see if this improves searching. Have yet to try wireless keyboard....Sony usually my home theater of choice, i guess in this case i got what i paid for. Not as good as prior sony home theater systems!

Bought it "open box" FYI: Best Buy open box is the greatest since Betty White. Said it was missing stuff but EVERYTHING was there. The system itself is flawless. very high quality construction all around

Love the sound and the upgrade from a DVD player to blu-ray,I didn't think there was a difference before but, there is one, should have up graded sooner

Fairly easy to setup. Good range of sound. nice beginner/mid range affordable system.
