    im really glad i buy the extended warranty as you never know what will happen in the future and if your like me you dont have alot of money to throw around at times. so its good to pay a little more now then alot later when you may have to pay a whole lot or be out whatever it is at the time. personally think its worth it as the one year warranties are usually very limited and if u dont find ur item under their exact perimeters then you cannot make a claim.

    You absolutely cannot beat a Best Buy protection plan for televisions! Especially for OLED TV's due to burn-in being covered unlike most protection plans elsewhere. I have personal experiences in which I have had 2 different LG OLED TV's that have been replaced, like for like (with one being upgraded from CX to G3!) due to accumulated dead pixels clusters. Techs came out, diagnosed and TV replaced (even wall mounted again for no charge!) in less than 2 weeks with me of course purchasing new protection plans for both! Best protection plan in the business!

    It worth it for the piece of mind. Luckily I haven’t had to use the warranty yet, but it’s a must-buy for expensive items.

    I had a 5 year Geek Squad warranty on my Samsung tv which was a good thing since it quit after 4 years. Best Buy sent a Geek out to my house to check it out and he determined that It was best to replace it. So they gave me a number to call and it was fairly easy for them to exchange it. Just be aware that what they replace it with might not be as good as your tv. They gave me a model that was horrible so I had to go to the store and check them out to see which one I liked. The sales guy helped us and we chose a different brand and went home and called the number and they replaced it over the phone and now will deliver it and exchange the other one. So definitely get the warranty. It's so worth it.

    Tv looks great while playing games, BUT has a severe problem with judder/soap opera effect that is very distracting while watching tv!

    I originally purchased an open box item with the Geek Squad protection only to find the excellent condition was not even close with the screen of my television suffering severe damage. After trying to deal with the Geek Squad over the phone and being very frustrated with what I am assuming is an India based phone center, I gave up and took my issue directly to my local Best Buy store where it took some time, but I was eventually told I could receive a replacement television since the damage could not be repaired. Within 24 hours, the Geek Squad came to my home, removed the old TV, installed the new one and was in an out in under 30 minutes. If it weren't for having to deal with an unhelpful call center the rating would be higher, but since I have a local Best Buy to work with, the protection was definitely worth it.

    When I bought a plasma tv about nine years ago I bought a five year plan because I knew the plasma tvs where going away and couldn't get it repaired. In four years the plasma screen did indeed go on us and Best Buy replaced it with a Sony LED 4K. I bouht a new five year plan and in three years this tv screen had problems. And sure enough this TV was discontinued so they couldn't get parts. So they replaced it with a new Sony TV. So I bought my third five year plan. Worth every penny.

    Had to use my Geek Squad Service just 2 months before it was expired on my 75" TCL ROKU TV .. IT WAS REPLACED WITH AN UPGRADED MODEL AND I BOUGHT ANOTHER 5 YEAR GEEK SQUAD SERVICE..

    Purchased for a new Sony TV. Why? My view is the technology has advanced far enough for "fixed location" electronic items, especially TV/Video displays that the manufacturers should include at least 5 year warranty other than accidental damage. They don't. Best Buy through the Geek Squad gives you what manufactures should; extended warranty. Knowing I'm covered for failure of the product and don't have to lug it back to the store is "sleep insurance." Haven't had to use it on the Sony, but a laptop I bought, we south on me under the Geek Squad warranty and the replacement was no hassle. Even got a slightly newer model of the same product (Lenovo) as my model wasn't available. No hassle. I know some have complained about Geek Squad service, but my view is it's a local issue, not one of the program, and I've never had an issue with level of service with my chosen store (I have 3 I can get to in about the same time).
