    Warranty for 65" TCL mini LED TV

    Best Buy did well helping me get a replacement for my Samsung 65" TV. They gave me about $450 for my old TV which really helped me be able to get a high quality new one. The warranty was well worth was it cost me to purchase.

    5 year Geek squad protection is essential in 2025. If the TV is going to give you problems it is most likely to occur in the last 2 years of your protection period unless you are the unfortunate one to have purchased a "lemon". Granted not all Geek Squad technicians are top notch but in general they provide responsible care when called and you may be lucky enough to get a technician that is beyond excellent. In any event a 5 year protection plan is essential when making such a substantial purchase.

    I purchased a TV in 2016, I also purchased the warranty for it and the representative helping me out told me that it covered accidental damage/handling and that is why I purchased it. I've always been loyal to best buy because of their warranty, I've gotten so many friends to purchase their electronics there because of it. But when I called regarding my TV and the fact that my son tipped it over and it broke the girl (Tania from the phone hub) told me I can call to make an appointment and geek squad would come out, assess the damage and they would give me a call when they would issue my credit/return. I called the 1800number and Joe from recon in Maine literally laughed when I told him and he said "uh no, you're only covered against lightning strikes essentially and manufacturers defects. I promptly told him that I live in Las Vegas and there's a bigger reason to sell warranty that covers heat since lighting (and rain) only happen a few days out of the year. But the entire time he was condescending and giggling. I am VERY dissatisfied and the fact that I got three different answers angers me because I spend a couple hundred on the warranty and it covers nothing essentially. I've purchased EVERY single electronic from Best Buy for the past 15 years and I will no longer shop there. Not only that but I'll voice my opinion on the fact that warranty on the TVs is essentially useless, specially if you live in an arid climate since your representative "Joe" claims it only covers against lightning. Customer service is also a joke, if you call 5 different times and speak to 5 different people then you get 5 different answers. Anger can only begin to express how I feel for wasting my time, money and being fed false hope in the wake of what happened to my TV.

    This is the first time use of Geek squad for a defective TV. Absolutely awesome warranty support. Calling customer service was easy, was connected to a live person not a computer within a matter of minutes. An appointment was set up and a Geek squad member came down within a week to adjust the issue. Within 48 hours of issue in the system, my issue was resolved immediately. He wasn't fortunate that my TV was not repaired, but with a 5-year extended warranty, I was able to get a gift card as an exchange for my broken TV, and again ordered a brand new TV online and delivered to my house within week.

    Always good to have have not to use yet. Years ago I had their protection with a smart TV, when things went wrong I got the tv replaced no hassles These aGeeks are pretty cool.

    Okay, how do you write a review for a service contract you have yet to use. So this is based on previous service contracts I have bought from Best Buy. This one is for our LG TV but the previous one was for our Sony Bravia TV. It paid off as the Sony gave out right as the manufacturer warranty was going away. The problem was the panel so Best Buy opted to swap it out. NOTE: They did try to give us the base model Sony saying it would do everything our original TV did. I complained it should cover the cost of the TV not the features as there was also an aesthetic quality and while the newer TV would do all the stuff our old Sony did, the old Sony was a nicer looking model. I offered to meet them half way and they let me upgrade to the nicer Bravia and split the cost with me. Best Buy has always been able to work with me and why we bought a contract on the new LG OLED TV. Simply put, you can't go wrong in getting the warranty on expensive items and an OLED TV right now would cost way more than we paid for the one we got. Hoping it doesn't go out but if it does, Best Buy has our back.
