||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would recommend a Geek squad protection plan for most any product that cannot be easily replaced for over $150 dollars, be it electronics or appliance's. Best Buy's protection plan in my opinion has been one of the best around. We have had several products that have failed and Best Buy, as long as it was covered, has stuck to their promise, if they could fix it, they did. if not, they either replaced it with a brand new product or they gave us the money back for the product and allowed us to purchase a brand new product because they no longer carried that product. It was really a no hassle thing and I could not be happier to recommend it anyone. I am sure there are some stipulations that we have not ran into, but we have had no problems at all in the 5 products we have had issues with in the 12 years or more we have purchased Best Buy protection plans.

I had previously had a 4K TV that crapped out on me several years ago and would've cost more to fix than to just get a new TV. That's when I learned that I should protect my new TV with Geek Squad 5-yr Protection since my old TV didn't even make it past 5 years. And I'm so glad I did! This TV had crapped out on me due to power outages that messed up the TV's power supply that gradually declined over time until it became inoperable. This plan was a lifesaver and I was able to get the value of my TV applied to a new TV purchase, which I used to get the same TV I had before because I loved it so much before the power outage and killed it over time.

Definitely add protection to any electric device, it will give you peace of mind just in case something went wrong.

Love the TV (using as a monitor)

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So we got this after debating several monitor choices for our new PC, and I'm so glad I decided to grab this. It's great for gaming, okay for office work, incredible for watching shows and movies. It's only 42 inches, which is small for me for movies, but the quality is out of this world. I usually go for soundbars/speakers right away but I found the built in speakers to be manageable for now. Love it!

The geek squad agent quickly and thoroughly looked for replacement. Parts we're no longer available. He was offer a full refund for the TV or replace it for something of a similar value. This was all a matter of 5 days. Very happy with the service.

Inexpensive "insurance"

My view is the technology has advanced far enough for "fixed location" electronic items, especially TV/Video displays that the manufacturers should include at least 5 year warranty other than accidental damage. They don't. Best Buy through the Geek Squad gives you what manufactures should; extended warranty. Knowing I'm covered for failure of the product and don't have to lug it back to the store is "sleep insurance." Haven't had to use it on the Sony, but a laptop I bought, we south on me under the Geek Squad warranty and the replacement was no hassle. Even got a slightly newer model of the same product (Lenovo) as my model wasn't available. No hassle. I know some have complained about Geek Squad service, but my view is it's a local issue, not one of the program, and I've never had an issue with level of service with my chosen store (I have 3 I can get to in about the same time).

Lack of comunication

Note: for the most part I do all of my electronics purchase from the aventura store. I happened to be near the Best Buy in Hialeah so we stopped by and purchase a Sony tv from them Along with a extended warranty one year to the date it broke, I then call the geeks They came out six or seven times they were unavailable to fix the problem. So the geek called the aventura store since it’s only a few minutes away to see if they would help on the exchange and aventura Best Buy declined to do anything about this issue. Then they called the Hialeah store and spoke to the manager Hector and he accept to take the tv back with no Additional charge to me. All of this has taken 5 months to be resolved, I believe that I purchase the tv at Best Buy and the Best Buy at aventura Should have looked at it more clearly. Best Buy in Aventura lost a customer and Best Buy in Hialeah has gain one&
