    Why in the world would you not buy the geek squad protection plan? For an appliance package or HD TV you're spending over a thousand dollars. For up to $249.00 (depending on how much you spend), this is cheap insurance. $50.00 a year, for a 5 year coverage. I bet you spend $50.00 dollars a week at your local coffee shop. In my opinion, buy the extended warranty, so your expensive item is covered.

    I just recently used my Geek Squad warranty to replace a Whirlpool Refrigerator that had been giving us nothing but problems from the very start. After several attempts at trying to fix it, the Geek Squad stepped in and replaced my refrigerator with a new one and a different brand, by my choice. Excellent warranty.

    Since there’s over a 60% chance that the ice/water dispenser will need servicing, this appeared to be a good deal. We’ll see - I don’t have kids using it and live alone…

    Service members were cordial and communicated well. They were able to get the job done and answer questions. Just wish they had explained before they left why they didn’t plug in the fridge.

    The geek squad guy worked very hard to solve my problem with my refrigerator. When determined it could not be solved stayed right on it to get me a new refrigerator replacement.

    Always get the extended warranty for appliances because you never know. The price was cheaper than getting it through the appliance manufacturer, plus I have never ever had a problem with the geek squad protection plans

    Geek Squad is a must have whenever I purchase an appliance because, for me, they do an excellent job. If I ever need to have them come out for installations, over the phone advice, etc. they're prompt, friendly, and efficient.

    Highly highly highly recommend having this. Our ice maker in our fridge stop working correctly and they were able to come out and fix it right away. Super friendly super service too!

    I really love this fridge, however changing the water filter is a not an easy task, after the first change with a samsung filter it started to leak water :( so we'll see how this goes..

    Installed water line for fridge, new wifi and modem. I was told I would notice a "speed up" but nope, no speed up. I think that is more due to the fact that my laptop is old, old, old. There were 2 young men who came and they were very efficient and patient with this older female who is not very good with computers.

    You cant go wrong with a protection plan it covers your item and if the item can not be repaired they will gladly exchange for equal value or pay a difference and upgrade do not forget to insure your upgrade highly recommend.....

    Every appliance I buy I get the extended warranty and it has paid for it self and more. Nothing is made as good as it used to be. I’ve had my appliances worked on by geek squad many times over the years and they do a great job and have had appliances replaced before.

    I bought geek squad protection reluctantly and realized it is worth every penny. Thanks for the recommendation of the sales person. The Samsung refrigerator got issues after a year with ice buildup, and voila geek squad team stepped in to fix the problem, they also did pay for the spoilage. All this during peak of COVID-19.

    Don’t waste your money

    So I bought a GE French Door Refrigerator from Best Buy August 2022. The unit was delivered October 2022. The unit stopped working March of 2023. I called Best Buy and was directed to contact GE for service. A technician diagnoses the issue as a bad compressor and ordered and installed a new compressor. The unit stopped cooling again September 2023. Called GE again and a tech was dispatched to repair the unit again. The unit stopped cooling again - January 2024. Called Best Buy who dispatched a tech on Thursday, January 11th. The tech diagnosed it again as a closed system cooling issue that he wasn't qualified to repair. A new company was dispatched for an appointment on January 16th. I received a call on January 15th that they too were not qualified to repair closed cooling systems. I called Best Buy again asking for a new replacement machine for this clearly bad unit. I was told that dispatch was looking for a qualified technician to fix the GE refrigerator. An appointment was scheduled for Monday, January 22nd. The same GE technician from the first visit came to the house and diagnosed the problem as a bad compressor AGAIN and ordered several new parts including a new compressor. This unit is 15 months old and has broken 3 times in 10 months. Each system failure has caused all the food in the refrigerator to spoil. I have repeatedly asked for a new unit. Today I was told that the "lemon" provision of my warranty is only good after the 3rd breakdown under the extended warranty. Since the first 2 breakdowns were under the factory warranty THEY DONT COUNT! BEWARE OF Best Buy and their geek squad extended warranties. They are clearly a waste of money. I spent $2500 on a refrigerator that has cost us hundreds of dollars is spoiled food and now we have no kitchen refrigerator for a month. Do not shop at Best Buy. They clearly dont care about their customers.
