    Ironic warranty

    This was an excellent washing machine to start with. I purchased in June 2021. Now it will not complete a cycle, It gets stuck on spin cycle and the spin cycle keeps restarting. During the spin cycle, the machine shakes even with minimal load in the machine. The warranty of course expires right before issues start. The repair price was at minimum going to be around $300.

    Canceling the plan and CUSTOMER SERVICE

    I recently called the Geek Squad department and their customer service is deplorable. It couldn't be worse! I called 10 days ago to cancel a "Geek Squad Protection" plan for my new fridge before it was delivered. They gave me a confirmation number, and said the order -for the plan- was getting canceled and it was going to take 7-10 days to show up on my statement. Fast forward 10 days, and the money hasn't shown up. I decide to give them a call, and I find out that the order was never canceled due to the ineptitude of one of their team members. So, I ask for the order to get canceled yet again, and for them to give me my money back. They once again say it is going to take another 7-10 days to show up on my statement. I asked to speak with a manager because I would like for them to expedite the process, and when they transfer me to the manager, the call magically drops. They have got to be kidding me. I very seldom write bad reviews, but these people deserve it. Don't trust them, don't buy their service. If this is the way they handle a simple cancelation, I wonder how they treat an exchange or a repair when THEY have screwed up. I am surprised Best Buy, being the company they are and selling the stuff they sell, offers such a poor service.

    The washer and dryer are not what you expect. So the washer is not as quite or advanced as you would presume it to be in terms of adding steam. It does not have a steam generator. It does vibrate although the vibration doesn't go over 60 Decibels. The washer makes a lot of whooshing sounds when filling with water and the dryer inner drum is not of the highest quality its kind of uneven and lopsided makes the dryer shake a lot. Turbo steam isn't that good it mostly sprays a steamy watery mist onto clots and then drys them again.

    The reason for the 3 stars is because somehow while ordering online we inadvertently order 2 washers and 2 dryers. During delivery the delivery guys mentioned they had two sets for us. They cancelled the delivery charge for the 2nd set on the spot. But unfortunately cancelling the 2nd order through Best Buy is not so easy. Disputed the charge through citi, still no word from them. It is frustrating. Other than that I love the washer & dryer we do have. (Don't pay extra for the vent hookup, see other reviews for that. To long and not bendable)

    I'm a believer in the Best Buy extended warranties. I always get them on anything electronic, especially portables. I have benefitted from having items replaced/refunded several times over the past 15 years with these warranties.

    Long wait times on phone and for techs

    I just purchased new items from Best Buy, and got the 3 year extended warranty. My washing machine started having problems after the first wash, and I called Geek Squad to get it looked at. After waiting on the phone for almost an hour for tech support, and then another 30 minutes for a level 2 representative, I was told that it would be over two weeks before a technician could come out and look at the washer. To me, on an extended warranty, that is an unacceptable time frame.

    Change your name to Useless Squad

    Don't waste your time and money on Best Buy or Geek Squad for appliances. I always had good service from GS in store on computers so I bought the service plan and warranty for a new Kitchen aid s\dishwasher in 2019. When I needed service, I spent 30+ minutes listening to their torture music and finally got an "agent" who scheduled the repair. Repair person said that a new pump was needed and had it sent to my house and scheduled a follow up appointment to install. All good so far... But on the day of the appointment, we got a call and hangup at 6:35 from a blocked number.. At 2:30, I called GS and listened to another half hour of their wonderful music. Agent Useless answered and claimed that the repair person had called at 6:35 and didn't; get an answer. Apparently, he ordered the pump but not the clamps that he needed to complete the repair and would contact us to reschedule the repair. Useless would not give me a number where I could contact the repair person directly. Now that's great service!!! And it's the last household appliance that I will get from Best Buy. UPDATE: After 9 days, I received the clamps that the GS technician didn't order. They were regular hose clamps that are available at any big box store. Technician arrived today and looked at the pump that he had shipped to me two weeks ago and a part was missing. I guess I was supposed to do his job and inspect his parts before he arrives. And guess what...Geek Squad and Best Buy couldn't care less.

    Incorrect mfr war in their system I PAY THE PRICE

    I purchased a Whirlpool commercial washing machine, and the water pump broke after four months of ownership. I called the Geek Squad and they directed me to the manufacturer since they said it was still under warranty (which turned out to be incorrect). Whirlpool came out and fixed the washer but then I received a bill for the service. It turns the manufacture labor warranty ended after 90 days and Geek Squad had that listed incorrectly in their system. Since Geek Squad didn't charge me directly they say it is out of their hands and will not resolve the situation. Now let me tell you about the fun journey that led me to this conclusion. When I originally called Geek Squad for the repair they didn't mention anything about the manufacture warrantee and scheduled for a service tech to make the repair. I took the day off to meet the tech but they never showed. I then called and had it reschedule - and again the tech never arrived. After spending hours on the phone trying to find out why the techs were not coming, it was eventually discovered that the machine was still under "warranty" and their system will automatically terminate the service visit so they don't accidentally void the mfrer warranty. Upon this discovery I was directed to the manufacturer and had to wait 2 more weeks before a tech could come and make the repair. My tenants and myself were out a washing machine for a month and now I'm being charged $165 for service just because Geek Squad doesn't have the manufacturer warranty listed correctly in their system. I didnt want to give up on this (and still am not), but I have now given HOURS of my time on the phone. The only positive thing I can say is that (though I've been disconnected a number of times while on hold with customer service), all the agents have been very friendly and seem sincerely interested in trying to help - I just think they have limited resources, which is part of the problem. I'm terribly disappointed with this experience and wish I went with a different route with my purchase.
