New TCL Extended warranty

Misleading Two-Year Warranty
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the 2-year Geek Squad Protection Plan thinking it would provide immediate coverage if something went wrong with my new TV. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. What they don’t tell you upfront is that if your product is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, Geek Squad won’t help you, they’ll just refer you back to the manufacturer. That means you’re really only getting about one year of coverage, not two, because Geek Squad won’t step in until the manufacturer’s warranty expires. To make things even more frustrating, if your TV is wall-mounted, Best Buy won’t unmount it for you unless you pay an additional $150 or hire someone else to do it before they’ll even assist you. So, even though you pay extra for “full protection,” it doesn’t actually feel like full protection at all. This experience feels misleading and like false advertising. When you buy a 2-year protection plan, you expect help anytime during those two years, not to be bounced between companies or charged extra just to start the replacement process. Customers deserve better transparency about what this plan actually covers and when it applies.

Dropped TV and Damaged Home….

On November 4th the installation team came to remove our current TV and wall mount and install the new wall mount and new TV. In the process they dropped our TV, damaged our wall, shelf, fireplace and floor. I have been trying to get a manager on the phone since then, it’s now 11/10. They have reordered the TV but we cannot get them to schedule another appointment to install. Also, the installation team left us with our old TV and wall mount uninstalled. So then my husband had to reinstall everything they removed on his own. This will be the last time I purchase from Best Buy.

Great Buy!!

It literally has everything in a smart tv that you would want. I like that even my non-techy grandma is able to easily navigate the tv/apps/and remotes. Also has voice search feature which is very convenient. It was super easy 1 step, push of a button to get my cable tv remote paired with the new tv. I loved that part because usually they have codes you have to fuss with and it takes too long or you don't have the code etc. I definitely recommend this TV!

Geek Squad Review

So happy I did. It did not take them much time to get everything up and working. They also reviewed and showed me all the different options that this TV has to offer. I'm not very techy, so it will take a little time to learn how to do everything quickly, but I will get there. Thank you to the (2) gentlemen from the Geek Squad for doing an amazing job and helping to understand all of its options.

Pretty good coverage, lacking timliness of repair

THey always have to come and diagnose then order parts and then return sometimes up to 3 times. But the service does cover repairs, and if the same problem exists 3 times, they will replace your item.

I haven't had anybody I know tell me, "Boy, I sure am thankful that I got that Geek coverage for my item!", but I have to be fair and also say I've never heard any say it was a waste of money. I was a bit baffled that they don't give you anything other than the receipt to explain what I was buying and we all know how some receipts fade with age to a point that they're unreadable. I have spoken with the Geek department about other matters and they were helpful even if the item I had issues with did not have coverage, and I appreciate that.....big time!

Had a Fire Cube that failed, got a replacement, and the replacement was the next generation cube as they had changed since our original purchase. Taking a 70" 4K Samsung back this weekend that failed during the protection plan period....will probably get an upgraded unit as this model isn't made any longer. For high end stuff (TVs, Alexia, Google, etc) get the 2 year plan, it is worth the extra $$

A must for expensive electronic goods

So, i bought the Geek Squad 2 years protection for the same.I received excellent customer service from Geek Squad during the installation of my TV. I was having trouble getting my iPhone to connect to my TV. They gave me several tips and helped me throughout the installation process.I am very much pleased with their customer service.I appreciate the Geek Squad and i recommend everyone to get the Geek Squad protection for their appliances and electronics.
