$30 for 5 year coverage! Hope I won’t need it

If this happens the same way with the new TV within 5 years, I would expect BEST BUY to replace it . Ideally it would continue to work longer, but if it doesn’t, I will not be left holding the bag with nothing.

Better to have and not need than need and not have
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So let me share my agony. Purchased my 23 yr old Daughter a 65” TV for Christmas. It was really for my 1yr Granddaughter…SHHHH! Well I mounted it on the wall, of course, and within a month or two they moved into another apartment without the roommates. Before place was remodeled for them they spent 3 weeks at her In-Laws. Well I moved them both times and when TV was turned on again after two moves, though seemingly perfect, the screen had apparently been pressed to hard at a single point and did not work. Not worth fixing. Bought her a 70” this time WITH THE WARRANTY!! Don’t make the same mistake I did :]

Loyal Samsung Customer

The motherboard was out of stock since this size is no longer sold and BB Geek Squad replaced it. I like the Geek Squad but had to wait 2 weeks for an appointment and another week for an ordered part that was cancelled just to replace the unit. I will not be purchasing the warranty on the new unit due to this, as I have additional insurance for all electronics in my home. Do better Geek Squad!

Insurance, not Protection
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Geek squad protection had to be activated for my Samsung 55" inch TV after 3 years. Plus side: I was able to get the value for the TV to trade in for another TV. Minus: once you have to 'activate' your Geek squad for the trade in you lose it. I think it could be argued that if the Geek Squad concurs that your TV can't be fixed and needs to be replaced after 3 years, why shouldn't I still have two years of Geek Squad Protection left? So I guess it's not so much 'protection' as 'insurance,' but def. better than having to buy a new TV flat out.

Best Warranty

A Must Have!!!!

I originally purchased a Hisense 75" flatscreen TV that a little over a year later, the backlighting went out on half of the TV and right before Super Bowl Sunday...sad day... Though I wasn't pleased with customer support when trying to find a way forward over the phone, I eventually was able to get in touch with a Geek Squad representative via the chat (recommend going this route). He was able to locate my purchase, and inform me that my TV would be replaced and at no charge due to the inadvertent issues! Protect your investments! You deserve to be compensated for items that you pay for and don't work to specs!

A Must Have on Any Item You Buy Big or Small
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.With the Quality of longevity with Washers, Dryers, Refrigerators, TV's, any Electronics product going down the tubes over the last few decades it is extremely important to just save yourself the headaches that will come not if because they definitely will. I have had to go through the Geek Squad protection services in the past on other products and they have done a great job in handling the issue and either fixing, replacing or giving you a gift card to replace the items all together. Granted recently with the Covid in the mix wait times became in the hours to get thru but I believe that will work itself out in the near future. I didn't buy extra warranties on my last two sets of Washers and dryers and they lasted on cue about 4 years and then it gets ugly with costs of repairs trying to figure it out your self etc.
