It's a good insurance in case your item stopped working. I haven't used it so far, but, based on my experience with Best Buy they will fix or replace your item.

It is a really good idea to always purchase the tv warranty just in case something happens to the tv

I have always questioned buying extended warranties, but this has proven to help me on a TV purchased about 4 years ago. I got the warranty at a good price, and it has more than paid for itself.
