    I purchased a protection plan along with a TV purchase to ensure I had a working and functional TV for at least 5 years. The purchased TV was the high end of the brand at the time and we've enjoyed it. Unfortunately I cannot say the same regarding the protection plan. In my first year, we ran into issues with the TV. It was under manufacturers warranty, so they covered a motherboard replacement. Within a few weeks of the manufacturers warranty ending, ran into more issues with the TV. This is the reason I purchased the protection plan and thought I was covered. It was easy getting someone out to inspect and determine another motherboard replacement was needed. That was during my last week of my remote job. I have since started a new job that's 45mins away. I communicated this and the technician said it wasn't a problem and scheduled a Saturday appointment. The date rolls around and no communication from Best Buy all day. I call and am told no agent was assigned and would escalate my issue. It cascaded downhill more and more from here. I had a total of 5 escalations and >12 interactions with Best Buy customer service via chat, call, and in store. Then I'm finally told by someone at corporate that they don't have Saturday appointments in my area and said I should take PTO. It's a new job that I haven't received any PTO yet, so the rep was basically putting me in position to call out sick and hurt my reputation and employment status with this employer. I ask about options like exchanging or returning for store credit and was told that's not an option because they haven't gotten a chance to fix it. They won't work with you for Saturday appointments. So I've been stuck with a malfunctioning TV for months and am told my only option was to mail a complaint to corporate. I mailed a letter to corporate and still haven't received any type of communication. I've been a long time customer of Best Buy. Very disappointed by this situation and I feel cheated being stuck with a malfunctioning TV. Why would I ever shop at Best Buy again after an experience like this?

    Thanks for the fine folks at the Florence Best Buy. We have bought so many appliances and TVs and more and we always take the five year warranty. We’ve only had to use the warranty twice over 20+ years. But it’s always nice having peace of mind, if anything does happen.

    We bought the 5-Yr warranty from Best Buy for our 55-in TV. We had a problem about 2 years later which was fully covered by the plan. We had a pixel issue about 5 months later which couldn't be fixed. Best Buy replaced the TV with the newest version for no charge at all. They even delivered it to my house and picked up on the old one! I will be buying the plan again.

    Best Buy protection plan is well worth the money

    Best Buy offers the best warranty. I will not buy electronics without purchasing the Geek Squad protection plan. I’ve had a few large purchases that failed and Best Buy repaired or replaced my items just as promised. I suggest the extra expense for the protection to all my friends and family.

    If you use any sound bar besides Roku if you use the ARC connection and your remote controls your soundbar and the TV your volume will jump three to four increments at a time. If you use the optical you have to use a remote for each one, and if you use the auxiliary cord which is low quality sound it's fine

    Bought for an insignia 43" non-smart TV - hope Best Buy and Insignia are listening because not everyone uses a smart TV and like the privacy of a non smart to add a Roku to control what a manufacturer can discover. But the 5 year geek squad I probably won't need. I like the store brand better than others.

    Geek Squad service is a super value - I have used it for repair or replacement many times over the years. It pays for itself in the long run. I never buy a major appliance or electronics without it. And only Best Buy has the Best Buy Geek Squad service. It is one of the main reasons I buy from Best Buy.

    BestBuy comes to your house to fix your TV, unless it's smaller than 50".... if they can't fix it, they will replace it with the same TV or like technology... or a gift card and you can pick something else out. Get the protection plan, protect your investment... you're welcome.

    If you intend to purchase anything of significance then you ought to seriously consider adding extra service and protection. Geek squad will not repair or replace anything that has malfunctioned or been damaged but also provide technical support for you by answering any questions you may have and assisting with any installation or compatibility issues you may run into. This is a no brainer for me.

    Excellent service on time no hassle, Called store they sent repair man out he kept appointments as scheduled... New TV was delivered no questions asked.
