When my Sony TV's screen failed, I was relieved to remember that I had purchased Geek Squad protection. Frankly, I was expecting the service process to be a hassle, but it only took a couple of phone calls and my replacement TV (a newer version of the same TV) was on it's way. If you're looking at a major purchase, I'd definitely recommend purchasing a Geek Squad protection plan.

It's the best protection plan I've bought. They came in and did a same-day repair on my TV and it was up and running. When it started having issues again and eventually died on me, Best Buy set me up with a new model of the same TV! Came the next day and dropped it off along with recycling the old TV for me. Gave me piece of mind and save me a lot of money.

I typically don't do extended warranties, But these days, unfortunately, manufacturing quality isn't what it used to be and I didn't want the hassle of dealing with the manufacturer if my Polk S2 sound bar died... and die it did. It was a breeze to walk into the Best Buy store with my soundbar and accessories and get an immediate refund for exchange or upgrade to another system. Definitely worth the extra $24.95 for ease of return and peace of mind. Not too bad for $5.00 a year for 5 years of insurance.

I buy Geek squad coverage with everything I buy from Bestbuy that costs more than two hundred bucks! I've actually only had to use the geek squad service once, but it paid for itself that one time for every time I've bought it! A laptop I bought my wife for school died during finals for her master's program and they ended up giving me a new laptop and they were able to backup all of her files and they were very fast with everything, so long story short; if you buy a major appliance or expensive piece of electronics from Bestbuy spend the extra money for the Geek squad service!

I get this on everything I buy over $100 due to I've had plenty of things die on me prematurely, after the manufacturer warrantee.

hopefully i never have to use the warranty. Bought it for LG OLED CX 55" TV. My first OLED, B6P 55" had burn in right before 3 years. Amazon's crappy warranty would not do anything about it. LG ended up replacing the panel for free under the 3 year manufacture warranty. the CX model is 4 years newer and has better burn in retention prevention. If it burns in before 5 years, the warranty should cover fixing or replacement of the tv.
