I decided to go ahead and purchase the extended 5 year warrenty just in case something happen to my new TV over the next 5 years. Seems like a small price to pay in case something did happen.

If there's an issue wirth my tv they cant fix, i get a new one- i can re-up every 5 years and be able to get a new tv for a fraction of the cost of buying a new one once this one eventually breaks

For the price and for 2 years. Yes absolutely worth it. Used protection plan on another item previously purchased and no problem with getting a replacement. Always purchase protection plan
