Everyone should get the 2 year geek squad protection for any television that they purchase from Best Buy, because you got that extra protection if something goes terrible wrong like the television screen goes totally blurry or if the television screen stops working all together! Just having that extra protection is definetly worth the extra money, so that you are protected, and don't have to throw away your television into the trash can! Everyone should be protected! It was an easy transaction. I went to the store with a printed sheet of the TV I want it. The salesperson only had to look on line and ordered it for me.

Listen, I won't buy anything electronic without some assurance I'm going to have an exit strategy for when it goes kaput. Geek Squad by far has the best plan in the industry and has saved me from having to shell out major dollars more times than I can count on one hand. Its always straight-forward. You call, tech comes out and assesses the issue. They fix it or replace it... PERIOD!

Haven't had to use it for current TV, but used them on past TV and they were fast to come out and troubleshoot and since they couldn't fix it, I received a replacement

I purchased geek squad protection for a previously purchased TV which quit working 2 weeks before the coverage period ended. I was given a full refund with no hassle at all. I recommend paying for the extra protection for any large purchases.

The previous TV was under extended warranty, that really saved us. Highly recommend buying the extended warranty, lightning or electrical surge protection well worth it. We have a High dollar surge protector, it DID NOT prevent or protect or TV.

If you can afford the 5 year Plan on a TV, I highly recommend it. We had purchased a high end SONY a number of years ago. The screen failed approximately 4.5 years into a 5 year contract. Since Best Buy/Geek Squad could not replace the part needed since it was no longer available, we received full reimbursement for the SONY which basically paid for a new TV.

My tv picture died just a few months before the 5 years was up. I was given an e-gift card to use toward the purchase of a new tv. The reason for only four stars is that I made multiple long phone calls to get it straightened out. It shouldn’t have taken me so long to get the credit for the covered item.

After we finally reached the Geek Squad, things went well. We couldn't reach them by phone, but finally did online. Despite spending a long time in our home trying, they couldn't fix our 65" Samsung TV. We had lost the right side of the picture. When they left, we had no picture at all. We had purchased the 5 year service agreement and lost the picture after 2.5 years. it was replaced with a comparable TV, but we were upset that we had to buy a new service agreement, with no credit left for 2.5 years, & that was $170!

I do not buy extended warrantees as a rule, but for the great price of the 5-Year Standard Geek Squad Protection you cannot go wrong.

Never have bought anything without insurance. You may not think it’s worth it now but accidents do happen from point a to b or the cat or dog we’re playing a bit to hard. Don’t walk out without your insure item.

It’s great knowing that your covered. The 5 years is a lot of coverage.
