    Worth it for extra warranty type coverage

    I appreciate the addition of extended warranty a lot for electronics and other devices. Best Buy is good at taking care of issues that occur down the road, particularly if you have this extra coverage.

    Defective screen, large central white halo

    There is a large central white halo in the middle of the TV screen. I only found out about this AFTER mounting it unfortunately (having adhered to all instructions and precautions very carefully). I am a healthcare worker and have to travel for work a lot so by the time I got back home, unpackaged it and set up the wall mount, it was on day 16th from delivery date (past the 15 day return policy. Very unfair). Extremely disappointed at Sony products. Do NOT buy.

    I recommend always purchasing an extending warranty with any electronic/appliance you buy these days. It has paid off for me in so many ways, whereas I would be stuck with a huge repair bill or an unusable product. Best Buy has always been terrific about honoring their extended warranties, with with repair or replacement. The Geek Squad has always been easy to deal with, whether in store or home delivery and set up.

    If you are purchasing a high end tv or high end Home theater setup, get this. I am not a believer in protection plans for almost all products , but i have purchased this for Both of my LG tvs and i am so glad i did,. Had issues with burn in on my first LG and Geek Squad was extremely helpful and lived up to the warranty. EXCELLENT< THANK YOU BEST BUY!!!!!

    Peace of mind in case a product becomes a lemon. Anything man made eventually crumbles. Protection plan are a must. Helps save money when you need to get a replacement or fix on an expensive product.

    The agents came out to my home to see if there was a problem with my television. As well they came out to my home to help me find a replacement tv and delivered my new tv.

    Great picture. Liked the idea of being able to load different apps. Didn't like the fact that the memory was quickly used up after uploading a few apps. We ofteh received a message to uninstall apps to clean up the memory. Overall this is a great TV for the cost. You may need to be a little tech savvy for this one.

    I'm not a big fan of warranties on small electronics. But for a $400 TV . . . I bought the 2-year warranty for a little over $20. I figured that if something is going to go wrong with the set, it should happen within two years. Otherwise, it should be OK. Then it would be time for a new TV, anyway. My only interaction with the Geek Squad was on a carry-into-the-store computer problem. They diagnosed the problem and recommended a self-fix (which worked), and charged me nothing! I was impressed.
