We thought we were getting a great deal by purchasing Geek Squad…unfortunately it turned out to be the opposite. We purchased a washer/dryer set with 5 years on each. Three years in, the washer breaks. We called Best Buy on 1/26. The technician came 1/31. We were told 2-3 weeks for the part. We tried to contact the technician several times but got no response. Finally, we contacted Geek Squad. They tried to tell us there was nothing they could do. It is now 3/5 and we are still without a washer. We are spending a lot of money at the laundry mat. After numerous calls and lots of pushing, they did FINALLY approve for us to receive a brand new washer!! But guess what, the gift cards and sales that we used were no longer valid. We ending up paying $150 more for the EXACT same washer we had in the first place. Yes. We did receive a washer cheaper than what we would have without Geek Squad, but the entire experience was so ridiculous. We will never purchase another appliance/Geek Squad service again. We will stay local!

My 3yr Geek squad protection was a great investment for peace of mind. and it was not expensive

Have not had to use services yet but have heard a lot of good things about the Geek Squad.

Extremely dissatisfied with the lack effort from the extended warranty department to make sure appointments are done in a timely manner, called about my LG refrigerator not cooling , I was given an appointment 10 days in the future to only look at the unit (meanwhile all my food went bad and had to eat out all the time); found out from LG that a part was ordered and will arrive 2 days later, another appointment was set up by Best Buy warranty department for the technician to come back and do the repair 13 days after the first one but if try to change with LG I will get charge even though I purchased the extended warranty, best buy will not accommodate me to an earlier appointment even though it was possible, will not recommend services. Scheduling should not be done this way , specially not on mayor appliances like this one.

Expensive, but a refrigerator has lots of moving and working parts. Feel "safer" using it.

My last fridge went out after only 1 year 10 months... Thank God for the protection plan!

Got to get that warranty just to be safe. You never know what might happen in the future.

For 50 bucks a year to protect a several thousand dollar investment, you can't go wrong.

having the Geek Squad Protection Plan eliminates my worries if something goes wrong.

I wanted the 5 year protection and was surprised at the low cost for a piece of mind.

Great to have comfort of knowing some things are covered should something stop working.

Bought this to protect a refrigerator. Good price to protect your investment.

The all new Insignia refridge looks great and is doing the trick so far.

Ice maker was replaced twice under the extended warranty. The third time it quit, the warranty had expired, they sent a tech out (with a service call fee) and he said it would be around $500 to replace.

I will always recommend Geek Squad protection on certain products.

What a joke. Stay away from extended warranties. They subcontract it out to sears. Ive had sears cancel on me, consistently show up to the wrong address even though best buy was notified of this issue multiple times. These scammers are getting off by wasting my time and not servicing my fridge. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT BEST BUY AGAIN. YOU GUYS OWE ME MY 325$ WARRANTY MONEY BACK. WASTED 2 DAYS OF WORK. YOU OWE ME AN ADDITONAL 800$ FOR THE 2 DAYS MISSED AT MY JOB

Bought the unit in Feb 2023. Broke down within a week. BB sent a new one. That one lasted until Nov. 2024. But the warranty only lasted a year. Customer service offered nothing except a free diagnosis only if my 80 year old mom brought the fridge in. Not realistic. In home visit to diagnose was $125 for a $400 fridge. No free parts, no free labor. Insignia is Best Buy's own brand. They should stand behind these products. They've lost a customer for life
