I returned two Whirlpool side by side refrigerators because of problems. One of them the fan kept freezing up. And both of them the water for feeling glasses constantly leaked and shot out over the drip area. Did not have much for lights inside either. This GE refrigerator is the best refrigerator I've ever had The lighting system the LEDs are fantastic. You can adjust the shelves it has two drawers but you can also add drawers which I bought off Amazon there was enough room to put them on the lower shelf and still have room for tall things The sides of the doors are big enough to hold way more stuff including milk and juices. The freezer also has quite a bit of room with no problem even the door space is great. It is also quiet. A lot of room for whatever you need. We definitely love our GE refrigerator freezer it is awesome.

Techs are Delightful, Companies are the Worst.

Geek Squad will not repair everything themselves. Best Buy will contract out work to AIG and AIG will contract out to Pacific Repair. Unfortunately these companies do not communicate well with each other. I called in to Geek Squad on 12/1 and a tech was able to come out on 12/4; I was very pleased by this quick response. However, the tech was not able to fix the problem and bumped this up to AIG. I received an email from AIG telling me that a tech from Pacific Repair would arrive on 12/15. I was not happy with having to wait so long, but what else am I gonna do? On 12/15 I get a call from Pacific Repair, not to tell me what time they'll be arriving, but to set up a repair appointment. It seems that AIG made an appointment in their systems but did not let Pacific Repair know this. According to the rep from Pacific Repair, they did not get the request for my repair until 12/12. A Pacific Repair tech cannot come out until 12/20, and I am so not happy with this. I was furious, but again, what am I gonna do? I've already paid for the warranty coverage and am now stuck in this ever worsening series of events. Take a wild guess as to what happens when the Pacific Repair tech arrives on 12/20... tech identifies the problem but does not have the part on him or in stock on island, the part needs to be shipped in. Following up with Pacific Repair I find that the earliest the part will arrive is 1/14, a month and a half after I made my first call to Geek Squad. For reference, I could order a refrigerator right now on the evening of 12/29 and an entire refrigerator would be delivered the day before the part I need is estimated to arrive at the repair shop. I feel as though since this is a warranty issue that all of these companies are not making big money on this situation and I'm being treated as such by each and every one of them. It seems to me that Geek Squad Protection is only concerned with protecting the bottom line of the companies at the expense of the the customer. If I needed to follow up with a phone call to a repair shop that they designated, then tell me so I can move things along. While all the techs who've come out to the house have been wonderful to work with, the companies they work for are the worst. I'm seriously reconsidering ever getting Geek Squad coverage on anything in the future because while it may cost more to replace an appliance, the sheer frustration and anger I now have towards these companies may be taking a toll that is not worth the money I've saved.

The agents who delivered my refrigerator were attentive to every detail. From making sure that it would fit through the front door, to making sure that their hands were clean and dry before offering to remove the packing material inside. It was a very hot afternoon, yet they were both very pleasant and courteous.

Noisy, pretty looking, not a whole lot of features

I'll admit I should have shopped around a little more before settling on this refrigerator being as finicky as I am about refrigerator noise. 3 main things I really wanted: (1) Quiet or silent, this thing is noisy! (2) 3/4 sized for less space, that it is. (3) Stylish design, the high gloss black with stainless trim is very nice looking. This open-box seemed like a deal (( ended up spending a little more because I though a big brand name would mean quality )), but I feel like I really should have just gone with the other lesser known brands I was looking at where the reviews said the units were SILENT and you couldn't even tell they was running. In this day and age there's no reason a big brand like Whirlpool can't make a silent fridge, even at this lower price bracket with a list price just under $500. I have a mini GE and it's 95% silent. The only good thing about this unit is that it's pretty efficient so the compressor doesn't come on a whole lot, but when it does you can surely hear it running. I've lived in many apartments that had similar sized refrigerators and they were all silent. I have this unit sitting in an open space in a spare room, I imagine an enclosure might make it slightly quieter, but not much. I'm considering buying some fire proof noise foam panels to cover the back opening where the generator is exposed to try and dampen the hum and buzzing noise. Having it in my storage room is its only saving grace since I don't have to listen to it in my living room, otherwise I would have dealt with the hassle of returning this thing. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and will just deal with it. PROS: - Stylish and modern looking, nice glossy black mirror finish with stainless trim. - Reversible doors. - Nice 3/4 size. - No frost freezer. - Fairly roomy for the size. CONS: - Noisy, has a slight buzz/hum when compressor is running, you can definitely hear it from a next door room. Annoying! - No light in freezer. - Fridge light automatically shuts off after a minute. How annoying, I often rummage through a fridge much longer, so I have to tap the switch to turn the light back on. - No temperature dial, it's controlled with three little snow icons. Just use a dial, they work. No independent control of freezer temperature, it's all balanced through the main control. Luckily at its max setting things are cold enough. At the lower default temperature the fridge main area isn't cool enough. So put it at max. - The main door doesn't stay open at full exposure, which you need to slide out the produce drawer. The door always tries to close on you. Annoying! - The produce drawer has no rails, so it just sits on the bottom. - The protective plastic film that covers the doors has to be removed, it's impossible to get it all off around the handles without using a cutting tool like a knife or Exacto blade. The left over bits of plastic look terrible.
