I highly recommend getting an extended warranty nowadays as companies care very little for quality and longevity of products.

Purchased the 5 year extended warranty through the geek squad for our Samsung washer. Although I haven't had to use them yet, it is nice to know I have the added protection if needed.

Quality is guaranteed with this purchase through the Geek Squad. I have worked in retail and will not make a major purchase without having the protection plan. It’s that simple. With the plan, the consumer is afforded the ability to have their product serviced or many times, replaced, when they don’t perform as they did when new.

Usually I don't buy warranty plans but decided to buy it for my washer and had to use it right away, it was really easy and painless to file a claim and got my washer fixed.

We always get the Greek Squad warrantee of high dollar purchases. Quick and easy one stop shopping. I’m sure there are other options, but have always been pleased the BB when I needed to call.

The dryer I bought with a 3 year geek squad warranty broke right before the warranty expired. I called geek squad they set a appointment within a few days. The repair man came and diagnosed the problem. He called me later to let me know the repair was over the limit they allowed for cost and they would replace dryer for free with exact one. The squad is the best way to go

If you're spending that much on an appliance, it only makes sense to look in to the extended warranty. I have purchased these on my most expensive purchases and have had to use it on several. To get it repaired or replaced for the cost was well worth it. Have I purchased a warranty and never had to use it, sure, but the times I have had to use it I was very glad I had it.

The sense of security you get from paying a bit extra is worth it. Especially for the purchase of big-ticket items. I have always had a pleasant customer service experience.

Door wasnt closing properly and geek squad replaced it fast

So far so good haven’t had to use it yet but I have always bought the geek squad warranties because it’s better safe than sorry and paying for out of pocket expenses

Purchased the Geek Squad Service Plan. Have not needed to use it, doubt I will need to, but better to have a service agreement and not needed rather than need and not have.

I was so happy that I had the 5 year Geek Squad Protection Plan. I had an internal problem with my Maytag Washer and the Protection Plan kicked in and they replaced the washer when it could not be fixed. Everyone was nice about the problem and now I have my new replacement washer. So I have renewed the plan when it came up.

Great protection plan! I thought it started coverage after the warranty ends but im not sure because the protection plan says good thru 3/2025 and if the warranty is 1 yr then the protection is actually only 2 yrs. However the geek squad description says it starts after the warranty ends so i have no idea.

It’s great having geek squad protection I recommend this for anybody and everybody you buy an appliance. You buy an electronic buy anything there and you can get the geese squad protection by it.

The washer is great! Its huge. The best buy customer service was awful though. Shawn the manager at the South Portland store is super rude and condescending.

12/7/21 purchased a washer and dryer at Pacific Sales which is a division of Best Buy. I was offered a service contract from Geek Squad which is also part of Best Buy which I purchased. In May 2023 I noticed a rattle during the spin cycle of the washer. While the machine was operating fine at that time, I contacted Best Buy to have service to avoid further damage and was advised the service contract was through AIG. Had I known the agreement was though AIG I would not have purchased as I have 40 years experience in the financial industry and am aware of AIG history. AIG sent someone out from Antech Appliance which has a 1.5 star rating on Yelp with the majority of the ratings based on their work for warranty companies and finding reasons not to cover claims. The service spent about 10 minutes looking at the machine and told me they would need to remove tub which would take 2 people so they would have to come back. A day or so later I received an email stating the claim was to be denied as "they stated they found the unit not working due to a foreign object(coin/pin rattling) between the tubs causing a noise issue and this is not considered normal wear and tear." Note that per the email they are making the assumption that the rattle is caused by a foreign object but they do not know what it is and cannot confirm it is in fact a foreign object. I filed a complaint with BBB but Best Buy stated they are standing behind AIG finding. I had requested a refund of the premium as the warranty was of no value and AIG denied the claim based on assumptions. Subsequently the machine has started to show Error Code when I run the clean cycle. Best Buy responded to the BBB that they had provided a pro rata refund and cancelled the contract. This was done at my request as my right and not in satisfaction of my claim. Best Buy used to stand behind their products but obviously no more. Do not buy from Best Buy but, if you do, do not purchase a service contract. Not worth anything. They employ sub standard repair companies.
