We were told by the Best Buy associate who booked the install that Geek Squad was not available on weekends. So we had to choose a weekday and take time off of work. We were told the installer would be there at a certain time early morning and then the time was switched to later in the day. During phone calls with the technician the installer was rude and dismissive. He also informed us that we should be there and why didn't we choose a weekend if we were not available. (Thankfully, my father-in-law agreed to be present for the install.) However, the sales associate told us at the time of purchase that weekends were not an option. The installer also drilled screws through the medicine cabinet and laundry chute, on the opposite wall causing damage. I should have saved myself the headache and $250.00. I have to reinstall now anyway as it was not in the correct place.

I bought a Samsung S89C 77” Oled last week, with installation. I noticed the previous week BestBuy was offering free installation but they told me they couldn’t give it to me the day I bought it as it was only for last week. So great I bought the TV paid for the install service $249 only to notice 6 days after I bought it BestBuy was offering free installation on the TV. When tried to get a pre match or I would have taken a store credit BestBuy customer service said they couldn’t after speaking to a supervisor who told me I couldn’t escalate the issue any higher then him. I was offered a $50 gift card. I didn’t want to take it as it feels like they know they are in the wrong but don’t want to admit to it. I hope someone in corporate reads this review and takes action. The reason that BestBuy offers price match is so the consumer doesn’t have buyers remorse when purchasing an item and seeing it go on sale 30 days later. Now you’re going to tell me it’s ok for consumers to have buyers remorse when getting service with BestBuy? Now I have to worry not to purchase an item because next week you could offer free installation? If it was a small fee I wouldn’t mind but when you charge $249 and if I would have just waited 6 days I wouldn’t have had to pay that, I got a problem with that and everyone reading this should too. I have also checked through the exclusions on price match policy and I have yet to find anything on install services can’t be refunded. In conclusion I told the rep if there was an exception they can make with my case and they said no, I would have been happy with a gift card for the value of what I paid. In turn I would have probably spent double the amount given but I again was turned down. Bestbuy you need to do better.
