Didn't Last Long
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this tv on October 17th, 2016, after my previous Insignia television died after 6 years. Two weeks ago, the tv suddenly went on the fritz. One half of the 55" screen is normal, the other half is grey. Thankfully, I purchased the protection plan, but didn't expect to wait 10 days to have the Geek Squad come out to look at it. Upon inspection, we were told that the television is unfixable. Now, I am going through the convoluted process of having it replaced. A 5-7 day wait for more information, and then they will decide what kind of tv is given as a replacement. Waste of time and money.

product failed after 2 weeks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.after 2 week the video portion of the tv failed and only could hear sound. Had to drive 100 lies back to town the following day and then back 100 mies to the house to meet the direct tv man for an infall. went with a brand LG--learned a lesson --do not buy the least extensive tv--get what you pay for

Good garage TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought based on size and price to hang in my garage. Not the best picture quality but good enough for periodic viewing. Would not be my choice for primary indoor television.

An excellent buy for the money.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because of the price. We are upgrading from a 15 year old Vizio 37 in. I did not need "Smart" stuff, 4K, UHD,etc. The picture is very good though certainly not as good as some of the stuff you see in the store, but plenty good enough. There is no fuzzing on fast motion that I can see. I just got it going and am watching the playoff, but when I have time I will mess with the color and contrast controls to see if there are better settings. The sound is fine, though I am going to hook it up to my surround sound system when the games are over. Installation and setup was a breeze. It is well packed but easy enough to get out of the box (I did it alone). The feet go on with two screws each. I hooked the HDMI cable from my Xfinity box and the power cord. It asks a few questions and voila up comes the Packer-Falcon game. (unfortunately the Pack is getting crushed but that is not the TV's fault). Based on the couple reviews wherein the TV died, I bought the 5 year warranty for $50.00. I usually don't buy extended warranties so we will see what happens. All in all a great buy for someone looking for a good basic big screen at really good price.

Still can't believe it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've bought other tvs from Best Buy, even 4K tv. The 4K is fine when watching a program or movie in 4K but that's about it. The regular HD on the tv isn't that great. My wife complains about the tv all of the time. I wants a tv for my patio but didn't want to spend a fortune. I went with this brand because I got this brand for our guest bathroom but in a smaller size. The picture was great on that tv so I decided to give this brand a try for our patio in 55 inch. Now this is what's crazy, the tv in my living room is the same size, different brand though. Much more expensive too. However, this tv outshines the more expensive tv I have in my living room and this a not a 4K or a smart tv. I just can't believe how beautiful the picture is. Great job Best Buy on your brand. The sound is great too for patio use. I'm. Erynwell pleased. Insignia, who would have ever thought?

Better Than Expected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical of this TV since there was no display for it. I had purchased a Hisense 50" Smart TV and immediately returned it to get this Insignia 55" for $279. Not the best picture imo, but after messing with the settings it looks beautiful. I recommend these settings for the best picture, Backlight: 50, Brightness: 40, Contrast: 45, Color 50, Tint: 0, Sharpness: 45, - Advanced Settings - Aspect Ratio: Normal, Overscan: Off, Dynamic Backlight: Off, Color Temperature: Cool, Noise Reduction: High, Adaptive Contrast: Off. These are the settings I chose and are quite happy with them.

AMAZING!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just recieved my tv by delivery and I'm elated!!!! This is my first big tv purchase and I couldn't be happier. I wanted a 4k but the sales ppl advised against it due to the blowouts in the screen. The kinks haven't been corrected yet...their the Note 7's of the TV world. Lol Anywho, this tv is absolutely brillant. And for this price...you CAN'T go wrong!!! Pictures truly don't give it justice. By the way, unless you are hard of hearing, the sound is great. I don't know what some of these people are talking about in these reviews. The color, style, size, and sound are excellent for this price. BUY PEOPLE! BUY!
