    Great economical tv

    Needed a new TV in sitting room. This TV fit the bill as I didnt want to spend a fortune on a TV rarely used. This is a bare basic tv (not curved, not 4k, not wireless, not smart). Resolution and refresh rate on this tv is good for movies but not action sports. Room should be fairly dark as any ambient light produces glare.

    TV turned blue after only a couple years of use. Would not recommend trusting this brand when it comes to expensive electronics like this

    10 mins. After set up, TV Goes OUT

    I will start by saying I dont like reviewing products, however it is an OUTRAGE to know this brand can still be sold in stores after seeing reviews on this brand/tv that are not on Best Buy.com I bought this t.v just today, after setting it up (which was super easy and tv looked good and sounded amazing) I was watching a show and about 5 mins. Into it, tv goes COMPLETLY BLACK! ....BUT STILL HAS SOUND. I tried messing with the menu, but nothing, not even the menu pops up on this black screen. I turn down the volume, This was the only thing that worked on the remote or buttons on tv. It's literally just NO PICTURE to the TV. Disconnected it and reconnected nothing... looked up reviews and this seems to be a common issue. I dont know if I should be mad that this happened so quickly OR GLAD that at least this didnt happen shortly after tv's warranty or geek squad insurance expired. It's so sad that after visiting the Insignia online support and threads that this brand hasnt been recalled or gone out of business. I cant wait to take time out of my busy schedule to take this garbage back to the store. If I could rate this tv for what it really is it would be a NEGATIVE 5 star. And I will end by saying it's not easy for me to be dissatisfied with an item however come on, it broke within 5 mins. Of it out of the box, at this point this tv or brand should just not be on shelves.

    I've had a 40" Insignia for a couple years and its been great, so I decided to get this 55" for the living room and looking forward to the same great quality.

    Horrible motion blur

    Out of all the glowing reviews I have to think that I got a defective panel. I wanted a TV for my bedroom but didn't want to spend a lot and thought this would fit the bill. Unfortunately the blur or ghosting, however you want to put it, was so bad I couldn't stand to watch it. This wasn't just on fast moving scenes but mostly all movement. I spent a bit more and got the Vizio E55-E2 which is a much improved picture if you can get past needing a tablet/phone for doing the more advanced TV settings.

    Worst TV EVER.

    Horrible in all aspects and I don’t even have high standards. The volume can be full blast and it still sounds like it does at level 15 (it goes up to 100). The picture always has a blue or purple tint to it. We even had the squad come out and tell us that it’s just the TV. it’s what I get for keeping it cheap.

    ONLY HAD 2 MONTHS AND NOW HAS NO PICTURE

    We received this tv as a gift for Christmas for myself and my daughters. It was bought for us on Black Friday 2016 and yesterday while my daughter was watching tv, the picture went black. You can hear sound but no picture. (and now the sound isn't even working) I cannot believe this tv lasted only 2 months. That's ridiculous. I have NEVER had a tv that lasted only 2 months.

    Ghost shadows on energy saving mode

    Purchased this product last week my wife noticed ghost shadows everytime a person moved on the tv, for the most part happens on energy saving mode but still if your like me once you notice it, it will bother you for as long as you have it. Just returned and feel good! now off to search for a different product!

    Do not Buy

    After about 2 years this tV will shut off constantly when you first turn it on. Many times you will have to keep unplugging it for at least 10 to 15 minutes until it stops. And mines is not the only one with the problem just do a google search and you can see a lot of complaints about the same issue.

    Horrible is to say the least. Had this TV for two years and now it has problems and can't be fixed. It is trash. paid a nice price but it only lasted two years. What a joke. I would never ever buy this kind of tv ever again . It did have a great picture for the short time it worked but that is it

    I bought this tv last november, about february of this year a dime sized black spot appeared lower left corner, it had gotten as big as a half dollar, i called warranty company, they sent out am geek squad tech, he said i had hit the screeen with something, after five minutes of back and forth and no warranty repair for something i know i did not do, i asked the tech to leave, as he was leaving, a 55 inch tv was flying off the porch into the yard.

    TV Broke After Only 4 Years!!!

    We purchased this tv in June 2012 brand new at Best Buy for $699 and bought the 32" Insignia as well. The 55" is not working at all. Doesn't even turn on and has no sound or picture. A TV should last way longer than this bs!! We were told it was made with Samsung parts. Now I see why I looked on the website and seen that the TV is now $379 and I also see why BB pushes their warranties too!! It's not worth it!! Pay more for a better brand or be ready to replace in a few years!! Never Insignia again!!!

    Good while it lasts

    I purchased this 2.5 years ago. TV was good enough during that time. Unfortunately that time is up. 3/4's of screen has gone dark and customer service has been no help accept to say it would cost more to fix then to replace. I should not have to replace a $450 tv in less than 3 years. I've never owned a TV that didn't last at least twice as long. Quality of the Insignia brand is obviously very poor and not equal to it's competition.
