While I'm careful with my lens I would prefer to have the UV lens filter on, not only to prevent some UV rays, but to protect the investment of the lens.

Since then we have learned how it does protect the lens but a Lens Hood would do the same without some glare back of the multiple lenses. We now use a Filter or a Hood, depending on the picture

I checked a couple other stores ( not Best Buy) they did not have what I needed. I went to Best Buy. They had it. I bought it. No worry. Just what I needed.
