I bought it to use as a safe guard to help protect the lens from damage & scratches. For this it's great & as it's clear it has very little effect the amount of light reaching the focal plane. I still need to get one for my other lens.

It is also easy to install and gives your expensive lens protection from dings and chips. Other filters will screw right into the end so it does not require removal to add other options.

Good basic DSLR camera lens
